My dogs have always love, I mean LOVED bedtime. They are champion sleepers. When we go to the bedroom, Coco cannot wait until her crate/crib is unzipped so she can fall in and go to sleep. Charley heads towards his big bed and flakes out right away. They are off duty and out of it.
We have been very lucky with our dogs. We must be the most boring pet parents ever.
Horatio had tantrums every night for his entire life. It was like colic. We finally realized that he wanted treats. 13 years of this. Poor darling dog. There was never a sweeter puppy, but that colic, was a confusing thing... but, once he got the treat (he had to do a trick first.)
Right now, Charley and Coco are sleeping getting rested up for their sleeps.

Had a friend over for dinner - roasted butternut squash with balsamic and molasses (and lots of butter!) for about an hour. Then blended half of it it into a puree and turned it into a tasty risotto! We killed the entire pot!!

Full and happy!

Of course, I have a ton of dishes to do. Feh.

So our week is opening up to be busy. DH is on his way to sleep doctor. Somehow they will manage to convince to have another sleep study. I swear this is a cash cow for doctors, like rehabilitation centers in hospitals used to be. Insurance paid big until they didn't. Mark my words. Anyway. DH is having a bad eye symptom and we are scared. He has macular edema (not degeneration.) This has remained unchanged for many years. Now he is seeing what looks like a puddle. Scared about this. Really a bad change. I don't drive anymore and if he is going to be having problems, this could be bad. I'll have to stop taking my meds and start driving again.
Anyway, DS is leaving a day earlier for Vermont. I asked if he needed anything, he said he could use some snacks. That's me boy alright! So, off to Trader Joe's later.
He has to come here and get our car. We are putting new tires on the car for him. We are really nice parents, aren't we.
Now I am feeling bad. We are sending DS off for school again. Ten years after the first time, but just for a week now.
Better go now.

BBL, sending hugs and vibes for your DH. . . . Is he going to the opthalmologist, pronto? Get it checked; eye issues can be resolved but you need to act right away!

Thanks Mindi. He is being followed by two ophthalmologists; one is the chief of ophthalmology at one hospital and the other is a retina specialist at Hopkins. It's the Hopkins guy we are waiting to hear from. This is a serious issue and we should hear from him this afternoon. He's at an out-of-town practice today. This is a new symptom, so I hope it's something they can help him with, or it's just the (heaven-forbid) beginning of the decline of his vision. I think he needs some vibes, because I am scared to death.

We had a fun weekend, but my fears were realized & my poor kiddo came down with a terrible fever on Saturday night. :sad: So, we spent all of yesterday having a movie marathon (Johnny Depp/Tim Burton) & today will be similar. Poor kiddo----I sooooo wanted him to be able to go to school today. [At least he's enjoying his mummy book.]


Hope all my Peeps are doing well! :sunshine:
