Sending PB tons of vibes, B'Mom!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(Try to remind yourself that kids get higher fevers than adults do & fevers are usually the worst during the night.) Sending you both tons of hugs, too. ((((((((Hugs)))))))))

For me, at least with my patients, bad things seemed to happen at night, or at least the bad cases that stick in my mind all took their turn for the worse at night. So I relive that superstition and paranoia when LilOB gets sick and runs high fevers at night. Thank goodness for Advil!

One more bit of unsolicited advice----our pediatrician told us that we could give both Advil & Tylenol, since they are different meds, so what I usually do with the worst fevers is give a dose of Advil & then 2 hours later I give a dose of Tylenol. That way the meds are in the system a bit longer & they hit the bug twice.

[All subsequent doses are given based on the recommended timing, just with the continued 2 hour alternate med follow-up.] (I hope any of this makes sense---I'm very tired!)

It tends to be pretty effective. Good luck to you, B'Mom, and still sending tons of vibes to PB!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~```

Morning everybody! It's a gloriously sunny morning here, but really cold! Oh well, a bit of that strange yellow circle thing in the sky is really appreciated!

B'mom, I really hope that PB's fever starts to break. The medical advice is the same over here - to alternate between ibuprofen and paracetamol. I think these things are always worse at night because when the body is in sleep/night mode is when it properly repairs itself and can fight the infection. Many vibes for a speedy recovery~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ATG, glad you're starting to feel better!

Nurse, congrats on the job offers! Must have been the super-cape Zab that did the trick!!

Feeling a bit jaded this morning as we went to see Roxy Music last night (which was brilliant!). Bryan Ferry may have to join Pierce Brosnan & Rupert Penry-Jones on my laminated card (Friends reference; please tell me you know the episode!)

Good morning, Peeps! It's so great to see the Chat moms trading wisdom. I hope PB is feeling better today; those high fevers are scary, and ITA, night-times are the worst. OB's physiological explanation makes sense, and psychologically I do think we feel more vulnerable at night, too.
And speaking of moms, I loved the pictures of Charley and Herself, BBL! The Daycare supervisor said once Henry calmed down he did just fine. I'm thinking of boarding him there, so he can get playtime everyday, and boarding Miss O at the vet, since the frenetic pace of the Daycare is just too much for her. Somehow I don't think Olive will be grief-stricken at the separation. . . . :p

Good morning!!

Jules, we are having similar weather, sunny but bitterly cold. I'm so done with winter!!

Have a great day!!

Hope that PB is feeling better today!

Good morning all!

B'mom - hope PB is feeling better today!
Mindi - hooray for HenHen and doggy day care!
BBL - love the pics of Charley and Herself. Every time I see her picture, I can't help but think what a pretty girl she is.
CK - thanks for the trip down memory lane! I can't believe Collin is nearly 6 months old already!!!
Avril - sending warm thoughts your way!!!!

Biopsy results should be in today. To say I am nervous would be an understatement. The reality is, whatever life throws at me (and Winky), I will handle. This morning, Jinjy threw himself at Winky. I was in the middle of putting on makeup and you can just imagine the mascara accident that happened. Anyway, by the time I made it to the living room to investigate, young Jinjy had Guilty Tail and Winky was cowering under the bookcase, growling. By the time I got through scolding Jinjy, he was cowering under the kitchen table. Party time at Restricter's house!!!

Our kennel has the daycare/boarding option. The entire thing is run by the animal hospital (not ours.) When given the choice of group (no cage) sleeping and kennel (run) arrangements, we chose one run for the two of them. When it was Horatio and Charley, we split them up, much like your situation with Miss Olive and HenHen. Rest. She needs the rest. But our vets absolutely forbid the collective sleeping arrangement. So, I guess I made the right decision. All I could picture were dog orgies, parties with cigars and party hats and beer in the dog dishes when the super turned her head.
