Hi everyone! I just spent the last aaaaages catching up! I was sooooo behind (back at page 80!!) Hope everyone is doing ok :hugs:

BMom - love your akita! :love: Do ya know that Sarah Michelle Gellar has one too, his name is Tyson! He's gorgeous!

Thanks Avril! Unfortunately your Max and my Maxx are playing together as we speak and are great friends!:hugs: I still think of him all the time.

Much better, ta Avril, now that I've got rid of that horrible cold! Somebody recommended something called Kalooba to me; supposed to be more effective than echinacea. Don't know if that was what finally shifted it, but if anyone else is suffering, may be worth a try!

OB--I never knew you were so talented on the creative side!! Your items are beautiful!!

I am so impressed by all the peeps that have the brains and creativity. I hold my own in smarts, but don't have a lick of creative ability. True stort--an elementary teacher used my drawing as an example of what not to do!!

Restricter - how is Winky? Glad to hear he's eating tons of food! Did you get the Whiskas Crunch? Not sure if they sell it here but I can check next time I'm in the supermarket!

I've had a mad busy week. Had a great lie-in this morning coz I was still wrecked from the London trip earlier on in the week.

Nurse - many congrats on your exam results, I knew ya could do it!!! :hugs: :ps:

Purse - love the new avatar! Did you finish all the decluttering?

BBL - I love my Michele watch!!! :heart: And the strap has totally softened out like ya said it would, yippeee!

Cakey - how's Florida?

Mree - sorry you've been experiencing the horrible snow! Sending melting snow vibes to you! :hugs:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am loving the watch, too. My strap is snakeskin and is painted like a rainbow. The scales are starting to lift, so I might have to take it back and see if Michele will replace it, fix it, or what. I know Nordstrom will make it right. When using exotic skins on a watchband, they usually will put a special deployant clasp so you don't have to touch the skin. I need to get a less flashy strap anyway.
I agree, making rings was never worth it to me, I'd always buy premade! BTW, how many rings in an ounce? It might be worth it...:p
Several hundred, I think, for the tiny rings. I buy them from Urbanmaille.com, and they are nice enough to tell how many rings you'll need per inch for each type and size of chain (yes, I'm lazy, what can I say :D).
Jules, I think both scarves are keepers for sure! Funny how a moment of frustration and annoyance makes that decision so easy! So many of my purchases have come that way!
Afternoon everyone,
Well DS1 survived his first disco unscathed! Seems to have enjoyed himself but I don't think I'll need to buy a hat just yet, lol!
After picking him up I drove up with the kids to our other place. DH had come directly from "work"; he'd had a big lunch & I don't think he bothered going back to the office! When I phoned to let him know I was on my way he was already asleep, so guess who had to carry two sleeping kids and all our other junk from the car at 1am? I think he owes me!
I must have had a premonition yesterday when I picked up a couple of scarves!! I couldn't make up my mind about them and my SA said I could bring them back so I thought I'd try at home and decide; looks like DH may have made my decision a bit easier!:graucho: BTW, they were Mots de Soie (I think c/w 02) and the giant BdeG in blue. Any opinions welcome!
OB & ATG, fantastic stuff!! :yahoo:Can't believe how talented you ladies are! Feeling v. humble!
Lulilu, you managed to get the Alexa you wanted! Fabulous!
BBL, hope that your DH is feelng better soon.
Restricter, hope your migraine is abating. It does sound like you might be coming down with this bug that is going around; it seems to be truly international! Rest up, & that's an order!
Happy Saturday to everyone, time to throw another log on the fire!
Oh, I got Mots de Soie, also. I love it. I love anything that is based on letters and words. I wore mine the other day. It has a lime green border and is C/W 07. I also got the Brides de Gala en Finesse and believe it to be the most beautiful piece Hermes has produced ever. But, that is just me.
Thanks, Ck! I'm actually not too creative when it cones to design, but I can learn techniques very easily. Which is why I earn my living in medicine rather than jewelry!
Thanks, Bmom! I'd love to do more, but I'm out of rings and I just can't bring myself to buy silver at $30 an ounce :nuts:
BBL, I used to make my own rings, but it was a pita and half of them were unusable; so now I pay extra to get premade perfect rings.
I have some wire from a few years back. I don't use much, because it was so expensive when I bought it. And, the funny thing is, I don't wear the jewelry I make. It's really just a hobby. But, I have never made anything as gorgeous as that bracelet. I mostly wear gold jewelry. There is very little silver in my collection; just a few old pieces from my mother and a couple of little bangles. There is a little H charm bracelet that I would LOVE to own, but it costs more than a Double Sens....
BBL, I hardly wear the jewelry that I make, too. Mostly because it was in silver or I made them for other people. I've got a box of gorgeous and unique stones that I bought back in college, but now that I have no access to a studio, I can't do anything with them. Maybe when DD starts preschool.
Jules - delighted to hear you're all better from the cold :hugs:
BBL - defo bring back the strap! I got the black patent strap, tiz working out great for me! And goes with everything! :D
SPEAKING of how OB makes her living in medicine. . . OB, do you have any opinions about whether a super-high protein food is good/bad for dogs? The behaviorist recommended EVO brand, which is completely grain free and has in excess of 40% protein. Now, in the wild, I know canids are pretty much all animal protein all the time, but of course there is contention on this subject when I Google it, so I am curious if you have any input. I would like to get Henry off the Hill's i/d at some point, since I do think it's made of crap (first ingredient: Corn; subsequent ingredient: Chicken By-products--I don't want to know what this includes). And though it seems to agree with him all right, it is not SATISFYING him--I feeding him more than is recommended and he is still ravenous all the time and has now begun some food guarding, which is freaking me the heck out. I'm wondering if a better-quality food might make him feel fuller? Hen, Hen, Hen. :p
DH is home tomorrow. Won't we all be glad when I can start neuroticking all over him again instead of on tPF?
I just wanted to wish everyone a great weekend. I have been in school almost all day. I went to the pet shop for lunch and they had the cutest birds ever! Lovely colours and they made me so happy that I am hoping the happiness I am sending you will give you the great vibes you need.
And to assure you that I am not working too hard I spent three hours yesterday at a party. :p
Restricter: I am sorry but they didn't have any. I will try a bigger one on Monday. :hugs:
