Yeah, who knows, I might not notice Smuffy sleeping on my head (and snoring) and Jinjy hogging the bed. I really wish there was a way to upload the sound bite of Smuffy snoring. It's hard to believe something that small can make so much noise.

Well, you could record the serenade as a .wav file and then download it as an MP3. I used to record DH's snoring because it was so very unbelievable. Can your iPhone record sound?
Do you have a prescription for a migraine med? I take Relpax when I have the first sign of migraine. I know I've talked about it before, but I also keep MagOx in my kitchen to take when I am not certain that it is migraine. With all the kitties, the fur and dander. I have been plagued by migraine like crazy the past few weeks and months. The more the weather changes, the worse it gets.

At last! Fairly decent pics of the tank I made (for Mindi!)

Well done, ATG!!! And all this time, I thought you were talking about apparel!

Hi LU!
I need to kvell for a moment. Yes, it is about DS.
I haven't heard from him in a week, so I called him yesterday. He called me back last night. We had a short chat; he has a job today, he is seeing an herbalist Monday, not much else. A half hour later he calls me back with a smile in his voice. What is it? He has a call from someone from the grad school to which he has NOT applied yet and she is saying that the 12 credits from the herbal course he just finished will transfer over. Yea!! Also, they sound so interested in him and say the essay is just an exercise for the student, not the administration. He is using this opportunity to write a book. Can't say what yet. It will be an ebook! Mom will have to teach him how. LOL. Anyway, he had emailed this person saying that he was waiting to hear from somebody else, but he never did. She called him from. Wait for it. Polynesia. I think they want him. Now, if they want him without the application, don't you think they might want to throw him some $$? I ask, he says he doesn't think so and the tuition is $73,000. My heart sank. Could he be as dyslexic as I am? Please? DS read that again? Oh, it is $7,300 a semester and it would only be three semesters. Oh Thank G-d. Anyway, let's have some scholarship vibes for him. He is really in demand now at two grad schools. I kvell with motherly pride. I can't stand it how proud I am of him.
Kvell is a yiddish word for being so proud that you sort of overflow with happiness.
This is the only way I can explain the word. Imagine a pot of chicken soup boiling over on the stove. That's how it is.
BBL, one proud mama.

J, your pride in your son is so evident whenever you talk about him. I can just see you smiling with pride. (I was the only gentile in a Jewish neighborhood growing up -- grew up with kosher, delis, fish stores for homemade gefilte fish, and my kids attended nursery school at the synagogue so I can just imagine you kvelling. lol)

Congrats re the interest of the grad schools. And the tuition always hurts, no? I hope he will be able to do something that is lucrative (somewhat at least) when he finishes.

LOL! Well catch me on certain days and it's a quarter for both :p ;)

We're the same, we crate when we're gone still. They'd be fine, but they see us put on our shoes and they're already in their crates waiting for their cookies. It's become their lil safe haven.

My boys too. They know when I'm getting ready for work and make their way into their crate. Sometimes when I'm still getting dressed, I will see one of them in there already.

I thought it seemed cruel, but they do love it after getting used to it. And they are so much safer.

Thanks, lu.
It is nice that he is sought-after. It was that way for undergrad as well.
Naturally, the schools that offered him $$, he turned down. He went to the most expensive school in the country at the time and they did not offer merit scholarships, because all of their students deserved them. So off he went to his school.
And, lucrative is not his style. He genuinely wants to help people and money really doesn't mean much to him. He is frugal and doesn't want or need for anything. He lives simply and didn't inherit my shallow obsession for beautiful and expensive things. But, the funny thing is, he knows what "good" is. He can tell good fabric and a nicely cut suit or shoes. So maybe there is hope for him, yet!
Yes, I'm kvelling. I'm proud as I can be.
Thanks, lu, for the kind words.

BBL, my eldest daughter is like your son -- she works in the poverty feeding program area and doesn't exactly pull down big bucks. But she and her DH are what I call "low maintenance" and are very happy with simple stuff. That just means I spoil her and my GDs. Little Lu was raised at NM and H, lol. It gives me pleasure.

Pursey, is it red elephant time of year already?

B'mom, I am dying for a VCA necklace. You need to get one soon so I can live vicariously. I do have a gold/op bacelet, though. It's so light and easy to wear.

Hi Lulilu! Happy Friday!

BBL - it's definitely a cold. Sore throat and achy sinuses. Maybe all that stress-relief snow shoveling wasn't a good idea... And yes, I have The Snore recorded on my iPhone. It sort of sounds like a bad bout of flatulence though.

The Winkster doesn't seem the least bit sick. Well, maybe he's got a sniffle too but his appetite is tiger-sized. I was told that with lymphoma, his condition could deteriorate in a week. It's been 2 and he seems just fine. In fact, better now that he's on antibiotics. The rate things are going, I'll drop dead from stress and he'll outlive me.

Jinjy says he needs to do a new reveal. He's bored. Cats....

I drive a very little sports car. I did get stuck on the road, so I just got out and shoveled! Then I carried on.

That's great!!

It's so BAD here! This is the worse I have seen in. I still can't believe I made it in.

This is the view from my office when I got in.

Ah the golden dome. I miss it, sort of. Not all covered in that white stuff, though. :p Do you work in the building where the Attorney General's Office is located??? I'm guessing you overlook Ashburton Place, judging from the view. :graucho:

(As you can probably guess, I'm doing a bizarre and sporadic kind of catsup... :D)

It is days like these I am thankful I have cats. No outdoor business to worry about.

OB - the first day of the public sale is usually Wednesday, so if that's the 22nd, you would be on time.

Is it paranoid of me to be watching Winky's every move? Now that he's on antibiotics, he is visiting the water bowl less and eating more (yes, it's possible) and even playing. This can't be a cancer cat, can it?

Shoot, really? Freaking figures. I have a HUGE horse show I'm working, and it runs from the 23rd to the 27th of March. I have to be on site all week. No ifs, ands, or buts. Crap. :censor:

Ah......
DH went to bed in a woozy, sick state. Collin went easily to his crib.

Magic and I are having a snack and watching the news.

Tomorrow DMIL and DFIL will stop by. Give me strength.
