Mimi, good luck and sorry to have digressed... I hope you find some treasures!
Oh no, you didn't digress at all! :flowers:
This thread is as much for you as it is for me and everyone else...in fact, I'm so happy you asked! Who knows if I'll ever have an opportunity to go Birkin-hunting in Rouen and Deauville :)

*Bump!*

Looks like my trip in September will have me swinging by the Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, and perhaps Avignon boutiques as well!

Any info on these Provençal boutiques? TIA :flowers:

I am bumping this thread because we are going to Paris, Lyon and Strasbourg this December. I do not own a Hermes... yet :p and hoping that I might get lucky on this trip. This forum and thread are full of useful info so I am going to do my research here before my trip.

Hermès Lyon is a great store!!! SA's are so helpful and nice!!! I was there less than a week and there were some birkin available, there were also Kelly, Kelly SO, Lindy, Jypsière, Plume, Evelyne and Massaï...

Here are my two cents about southern french (provencal) stores.

I have seen Birkins in all of them, unless they are really really small (i.e. Avignon).
Delivery day is Wednesday.
They close for lunch between 1:30 and 2:00pm.
The attempt to speak a few words of broken french and a 'bonjour' when you enter the store will get you a long way.
Some of the stores are very nearby each other. You could do literally several in one day.

I have not been to H in Lyon, but I know it to be a relatively big store. Also it has the second biggest artisan workplace in France is in Lyon, so it should be good.

The french train system is excellent, you could easily do the whole southern french coast in no time.

Good luck!

^^Hmm, I am in Germany and am thinking of going to Paris and scout the stores for a Birkin croc. But my DH has a reservation about it. He's been to Paris and does not like the city one bit.

I wonder if they will they ship to Germany? :thinkin:

I was recently in the Aix store and it was fairly large. They were very nice and seemed eager to find something I would like. They had a white Birkin, which was not on my wish list.

Reims is a small store. Deauville is larger and usually well stocked during their season.

It's all very hit or miss. The frustrating part is to be on the road making the holy Hermes pilgrimage and pull up when they are closed for lunch. I have cooled my heels outside one or two stores for the longest lunch hour in history. Worse is to make a special trip and find they are closed for inventory that entire day! :crybaby:

Good luck!

This is what I am afraid of.

Travel such a long way to find nothing in the end :shrugs:.

1 month ago, Hermès lille was full of birkin (including black box with GHW, parchemin, ardoise) with size between 30 and 50 (there was two fabulous 50 cm birkin one in black togo or clemence and the other was gold) and full of kelly (including lakis, box (a lot of!)) and a fabulous HAC 32 in Black box with GHW absolutely stuning!

Hermès lille is an unexpected shop since foreigner tend to go to paris or the southern part of france since they do not want to discover the rainy and cold climate of the northern part.

Be careful though, hermès lille do not have a lot of stock! i think. they do not receive new stuff as often as paris or cannes which are popular french town!

Last week I (Med cruise) went to the Marseilles store... they had 4 Kellys on the top shelf ... super service ... even though I don't speak french! It was a great experience!
