Hermes Birkin Offer/Approval

I firmly believe that all stores are still receiving decent bag shipments. These shipments may be slightly slimmer than prior “normal” years but the demand is also much greater, between new shoppers leaving other brands and locals deciding not to wait for international travel to reopen, so I believe many SAs are getting more creative with their stories...

Perhaps but who knows really what is going on at all the stores. I’m inclined to believe there is a shortage partly because the updates in the the bag offers thread seem slow.

Hi !

Something new has happened to me and wanted to get your opinion and experience on it. I was offered a Birkin from my SA and I accepted the offer. But then a couple weeks later when the bag came in, she informed me that the SM didn’t approve it. Is that a new thing? Previously, I have gotten offers and once I accept I have always gotten the bag. Don’t they double check with SM to make sure client gets approved before offering the bag?

Also, is it just me or is 2021 inventory even lower than 2020!

ugh i'm so sorry this happened to you, it sounds incredibly frustrating, and I agree with others, usually SAs don't offer unless it's already approved by a SM. i think the general way it should work is that your SA should be aware of your exact preferences and he / she may signal things like "we have a batch of bags coming in and something in there could line up with what you want" or "the store is expecting an upcoming delivery and i might be able to offer you a bag" but usually they shouldn't offer before getting SM approval. sounds like you have an existing relationship with this SA who has been able to secure pieces for you in the past. i would just let this situation go, hopefully it's just COVID and things are unusual / weird everywhere. maybe the SM feels inventory is tight, maybe you got something offered not too long ago and they're trying to spread the love around during COVID. but ultimately agree with others that this is very odd and extremely disappointing.

wanted to ask about the likelihood or the chance of my getting approved of a b25

I already have bought smallitems here and there (orans, sneakers,twillies, clic h, mug, belt etc) and my SA also remembered I loved craie and called me up to get a TPM in my specs. Recently, I also joined the Special Order watch event and got myself an Heure h.
Told her about my wishlist (b25 togo, etain) and she told me she’ll have her manager look at my profile.
Was wondering what the likelihood is? Will I be offered a b30 if they don’t approve of my profile for a b25?

any info or experience similar to this would help!

Switching SAs seems like a good idea. Her telling you to “keep spending” makes me think that she isn’t going to jump through hoops to make it up to you and get you another (SM approved) offer.

So, when u changed SA, did you finally get an offer with this one?

You will see this thread is very specific to the OP's question of having an offer by her SA only to be thwarted by the store's SM. Please don't jump into any thread and hope to turn it into something else.
