According to Hermes here, this new bag is made from Barenia and inspired by school books. With the up-close detail shots, it looks to me this is Barenia Faubourg?

This is the Sac Ceinture - @pretty99 named this in the SMs back from Podium thread.

"7. San Ceinture, inspired by 3 stacks of books with a belt wrapped middle, you can extend the strap to make it crossbody or shoulder, not so bad looking from the photo, comes in different kinds of leather"

What was problematic about the original? I've never seen one IRL, I've only heard about them. :)

I think it hung off the body at an odd angle.

It is truly a waist bag, and attempts to use it as a shoulder bag just kinda fail. The hooks are on the back, so if you use a strap with the hooks and hang it on your shoulder, the top of the bag will pitch forward at an angle. It doesn’t lay right to work as a shoulder bag.

And again, no matter what the resellers try to tell us, back in the day those Kelly Danses were a tough sell at the boutiques. They sat in the showcase for quite a while. If there is any rarity it’s because the stores stopped ordering them. But now waist bags are “in” so it has returned (in addition to the Frankenbag known as the Sac Himalaya and its obvious progeny [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51])

Ohhh - I thought they were crossbody bags! That's a bummer. I don't want a waist bag.

The bag's cute and nicely made. It's not a classic Queen Elizabeth II hand-held over the wrist, nor a shoulder bag (that I can see). They went for the unique design, not a utilitarian yawn.
