That must be where I get it wrong. [emoji15] I tie mine cowboy style and when not in use, they can sit for days on end at the bottom of bags. Because they’re so light and so less prone to creasing, I never thought more of it...

Cowboy style is the only style of tying a scarf I am half way competent at - the fabric on the Mumbai feels solid because of the tight weave but the fact the fringed edge is so unprotected just makes it a danger zone for someone as clumsy as me. This is why I always go back to 90 cm silk twills - no pilling, no fraying, pretty colourfast, good for temperate climates. I've still almost ruined a few but I have to try hard to do it; first day I wore Caparacons I got dirt, chocolate cake and ball point pen on it and they all washed out with no damage. I don't baby my bags either . Back to the parade of excellent scarves viewers..............

Wow, the original print grey/white/green is incredibly close to this, except that the greens are different. I don't know that I have seen a reissue that so closely resembled the original! This one should make a lot of people happy.

Depending on who you speak to on the shop floor officially the 70cms were retired but to those of us who live in the real world they never went away entirely even if the choices did get a bit limited some seasons. Introduced to celebrate the 70 year anniversary of Hermes silk scarves the 70cm format was supposed not to last but - guess what - we like them and Hermes in its wisdom keeps creating a few each season. Long may this continue as they are much easier to wear in the heat of summer.
