Scarves Hermès Autumn/Fall Winter 2018 Scarves

Yes, that is my understanding as well, though I have seen people use the term with regard to scarves with 3 or 4 colors. I've always assumed that the term was being misused then, but what do I know?!?!

Last but not least Della Cavalleria Finesse will be a 90cm silk.

Does anyone know/guess what the « finesse » is all about? Do you think it refers to the design or the material?

My understanding of finesse is a scarf with a limited amount of colours (2).

I know you might not know the answer but have to ask...How does finesse differ from tattoo? So many terms!

It has something to do with fine lines used for outlines (like those used on a mapping pen). it gives an overall lightness and delicacy to the whole design.

So far tattoo is more the silhouette or reverse silhouette on jacquard, more block print of one colour on light background than actual translation of a real tattoo (which often have fine lines).

This thread has been drool-worthy... i keep oohing and aahing.. thank you so much for sharing your sleuthing finds and getting us excited for the coming season. Question from a relative noob here, when would these new scarves typically come out? How about new leather and enamel wrist candy (in case anyone knows)? I've been satiating myself with these little goodies while i wait for my dream bags to become available =)

This is how I understand a finesse as well, more like fine sketching lines (eg- BdG en Finesse was multiple colors, but fine sketch lines) and the tattoos seems to be the reverse of that in a way, more like color blocked silhouettes.

Official date is July first. But it could be a regional thing, or a how strict they are kind of thing.

Exactly. Same thing for AW17. So either it's a regional official date or that some regions are looser on this official date. I know it's become very strict in our country since last year because they were warned by Paris. So even though the scarves have been sitting in the back room way before the date, they could not show or sell. Compared to 2 years ago, I was buying and posting AW16 mod shots early in June.

Does anyone know if it will come in dip dye or is it just a rumour?

I think it comes in as wash twill, still 90. And I heard it's machine washable.

I might be wrong PT but I think the Insta video shows them with a silky sheen as they are being flipped over.

Ha ha, in that case I've been led up the garden path. Good for me though because I'd rather like to have a pure silk myself.

I wonder if they're 140 silks then?

They're so boringly strict in London now. There was a time in Sloane St they'd sell you anything that was in, out back, downstairs or hidden in a draw.

Agreed

Funny, it doesn't seem like a Winter design either. Then again, the Peg d'H en bloc were from last AW and they scream summer to me (and I'm happier they're not Plume).
