Anyone happens to own both Act III cw 12 and samurais cw 08? I’m tempted to get Act III cw 12 but somehow feels like they are a bit similar?

Hi @fawnhagh and @bunnycat, I don’t own PdS CW8, but have seen it IRL and tried it on a few times so I’m quite familiar with it and IMO it is not similar to Acte III CW 12 at all... the design elements, coloring, and artistic style couldn’t be more different. I, however saw many similarities between Acte III CW10 and Jaguar Quetzal. I brought my JQ along and my SA totally agreed with me. I’ll post pics comparing those two down below. Bunnycat pointed this out previously in this thread and was absolutely right.

I actually think it is more similar to Samourais 02, but the black of Acte III distinguishes it. Acte III has more teals and greens than the 08 Samourais, so you are probably safe!

I did a quick color comparison. The black and purple clouds with the bright contrast hem are the parts that give a nod to CW 08 Samourais the most to me, the and the other colors feel more like CW 02. The detailing colors follow more of the Samourais 02, but of course, the subject matter is entirely different and has a totally different feel. I stole your pics fifi!!! (and a couple of others from here on tpf too because I google imaged them instead of searching here...)

I am NOT grooving on the reissues that are made "new" by the addition of dots and grids and what-nots. This seems to me to be the laziest of design techniques. And the cheapest. "Existing design, just two colors, and use the computer to impose a graph print on the top!"

Wow. That is really a color family fail on the part of H.

Totally... I was in the verge with CW1 of Acte III and had to reconsider. I mean, the striped corner of that CW has this wild tribal feel that’s quite unique, but it’s amazingly similar

Deep thanks to yodeling and the many others who’ve contributed their intel on the new season!

However, I think I am safe from this season. I like some of the new designs but not enough to buy. I only love one corner of Act III, so that’s a no-go. I was excited to see MP and Sous l’egide de Mars csgms and the cws are nice but not enough to make my heart stop. Everything is just *nice* to me when I wanted to be swept off my feet and catapulted into the stratosphere. I want to covet it so bad I’d be willing to (almost) sell my firstborn. Instead, I’ll be keeping the kidlet, and gladly. [emoji23]

It’s funny, I skipped last year’s AW for the same reason. Maybe I’m just more a SS kind of girl...

I agree with Mindi and others that I absolutely hate the practice of slapping a repetitive overlay on a perfectly nice design, minimizing the colors and calling it a day. It’s seriously lazy and cheap of H in my opinion.

Honestly, your pix are always amazing. I love Titania's magic bracelet or whatever it is that is illuminating Bottom, in addition to the big swath of moonlight. No wait, it's the spotlight illuminating the moon, LOL!

Loving the details, @Living.la.vida.fifi! It's lovely this scarf has both blocks of colour and small-design details (similar to origami paper!). Makes it look and feel like different scarves depending on how you fold it.

Ooh, you've found more, @yodaling1! Strange that I like the finesse on this Della Cavalleria but not on the Dallet.

Thank you for the compliments on the outfit. Both these scarves are very elegant. They might not look so laying flat with the bright colors but the color placements and proportion are just superb to transform the vibe of the scarf when worn. Hope they arrive at your store soon.

I'm mostly with you on this season. There are a couple I have an eye on, but for the most part nothing makes me , at least so far. Interestingly, the couple I have my eye on are CSGM and men's categories - no 90s at all!
