Does anyone know a good Authentication Service for Hermes handbags?
I recently bought a Birkin 25, it's fresh from store with receipt date of 11/21/2022, I also shop at this same local store and actually compared the receipt with my own receipts that I had before, all look identical. However, just for extra ease, I ordered real authentication to double check, they gave me result of "counterfeit" which is shocking to me.

I then decided to pay more to ask Bababebi to authenticate the bag, and her opinion is that the bag is authentic. I reached out to Real Authentication again telling them that they made a mistake. Of course they don't admit it and they say they need at least 2 credible authenticators' result to give me refund.

So anyone has other good Hermes authentication service recommendation? Thank you!

Your second authentication should be that it is fresh from the boutique (if so, I’m not sure why one would authenticate at all?

I would write real authentication again, emphasizing this point; do a charge back on the fee; and report them to applicable (BBB) as well as leave a scathing on line review

Not OP but I read it as OP bought from a reseller (tbd) or someone but in condition 'fresh from store'. Thus OP needs authentication. It took me reading a few times too to get to this point
OP, I hope you come back and update us.
ETA: sorry for the double posts.

Did RA give you specifics on why the bag is not authentic? (Please, do not post anything about that here.) Do the two authentication reports conflict? Did the reseller provide you with an authenticity report of their own?

I have to say that a bag purchased literally just a few days before and already at resale would send up some red flags for me.

If it is indeed an authentic bag, whoever bought that bag from the H store and then immediately flipped it is not going to be very popular with their SA and SM.
I have to say, if OP thinks their SA would be ok with their resale purchase, I might be tempted to ask them about the bag.... given that the bag was bought on MONDAY. Unless it's a large store, a B25 sale that recently would be remembered by someone.

I believe the bag (if fake) can only be seized if given in for after-sales care....

Kind of wild!

I’m not sure I fully understand OP’s predicament. Is there doubt about authenticity? The bag is supposed to be a recent boutique purchase with a receipt (not that that’s dispositive) and has been authenticated by Bababebi. Is the problem that another authentication service has deemed the bag a counterfeit and so there are competing opinions? (I’m not familiar with Real Authentication.) Does OP want to return the bag to the seller? Clarify the authentication issue? Resell the bag? Get a refund for the authentication service provided by Real Authentication because the answer is unsatisfactory?

Hi all,

Thank you for your comments. I may not be clear enough in my original post, I bought the bag from a private seller, she just got the bag on Monday 11/21. She said she doesn't like small handbag (B25, not sure why she didn't just reject her SA), but anyway, she decided to sell it (of course with premium pricing) . I like it a lot, perfect size and color for me. I used Real Authentication just for ease of mind, as you may understand, although I did check the bag itself and receipt (I just got my 1st birkin 30 this year too, so it's not like I have nothing to compare to in terms of quality and receipt style etc.) , yet as it's not myself buying it from the boutique directly, I kinda just want a trusted authentication service to prove to me that it's authentic.

Anyway, after Bababebi's authentication, I actually have no doubt about the authenticity of the bag, I just want my money back from Real Authentication. They are super slow, took them more than 2 days to give me result and a wrong one.

To update you guys, I contacted ****************** this morning, and they have already come back with their result this afternoon, super nice, efficient and friendly (they asked for additional 2 pictures in the chat), and their opinion is that the bag is authentic, same as Bababebi.

I will try to claim my money back from Real Authentication. If you are also trying to authenticate, stay away from RA.

I know the OP already said that the issue has been dealt with & resolved. But I was duped before by a "popular seller and a highly trusted authenticator" (who I will both not name here because I don't like to be bashed by their fans & patrons. I am only sharing this as proof that you can't be too cautious and trusting about things like this). The B was missing a lock and for H to reorder one, they need to see the B first. Upon seeing the purse, I was told something like: "Oh no, this is not our purse!" And of course, a padlock was not ordered. I sent it back to the seller, and luckily, I was able to get my money back. And no, they didn't confiscate and destroy the "B".
