Hi I was in the Sheila duty free H store in the summer of 2007 and got my first Kelly there. At that time, they had very good selections of Kelly - I was interested in 28cm and they had 3 for me to choose from. At that time, they also had croco Birkin and Kelly Pochette.

If you are searching for brikin, unfortunately it is very hard to meet in seoul loca store. If you have lucky you can see in duty free shop in Shinla or Avinuel.
If you are searching for kelly, it is hard to meet but not as much as birkin. but lindy or bolid or other things are plenty in the store.
I do not know about SAs, but I feel like they are not very much kind even to koreans :( I thinks they do not have a tax refund, but I am not sure so you can try at the store!!
If you go to flagshop store in Apguseongding Dosan park, I believe SAs are super kind and sweet and of course there are plennty of stocks!! Excluding birkin :( Birkin is super hard to meet in Korea!!!!

I'm not looking for a birkin or kelly but thanks for the heads up. not planning to buy but just curious as to how H is there. First time in Korea so I'm so excited.

My bag list includes an SB2 & a Jypsiere 34 or So Kelly. So depending on the stock i might come home with one :) before the price increase in January.

Hi!

Most of the stores have similar stock usually never birkins or kellys because they are reserved by VIPs but other bags are not too difficult to find. the main store at Dosan in Gangnam and the store at the Shilla hotel usually has the most stock. If you are a foreigner the duty free shop at lotte department store and shilla hotel and dongwha duty free carry a lot of exotics. the prices are more expensive than the US so probably quite higher than Paris.

hi, does anybody here knows whether you can easily get a birkin (no exotic, just normal leather) from hermes store in seoul? I am thinking whether i should join my husband to go to seoul in July. I was also worried that the staff in seoul are not so friendly and i dont understand korean too. I just came back from Japan, and i could stumble upon a few birkins from Hermes there, regret i didnt get any then.

Wait list for Birkin is SUPER RIDICULOUS in Korea. You really need to build relationship with SA and store manager BIG TIME there to score Birkin (keep in mind, there are so many customers who spend over $100,000 USD/year on non-Birkin and non-Kelly items easily in Korea)OR if you know the owner of a department store where Hermes store is located at or something. But you never know...you can try...'never say never'...you know what I mean? You have MUCH better chance in US and Japan to buy Birkin by walk in. Just my little input for your question...

SAs in Seoul are amazingly nice! They also have a great selection of H accessories and bags but not always Birkins. It would be great to try and see what they have when you get there though. They have Hermes in department stores, Duty Free (in and outside Incheon airport), as well as the main H headquarters right in Seoul. Like what aspenmartial said, you never know what you can stumble upon. Good luck and I hope you have a wonderful trip to Seoul! I was there last January and just loved it!

Thanks shockboogie and aspenmartial for your advice. Dear shockboogie, (a little sidetrack) i will be alone shopping as my husband will be there to meet clients..i had a not so good experience many years ago , the koreans in my memory are not very friendly..so i am pretty worried about going there and wallking on my own.

hi! wancheekin, u mean u saw some birkins in Japan hermes's boutique? which part of japan? what size and color?

My hubby travels to Seoul often and walked into 2 different Hermes stores. When asked about a Birkin, the SA literally turned the other way before he could complete the question. Its a good thing my husband don't get bothered by that. Also there's 2 H stores at the airport but unfortunately they don't sell birkins, according to the SA. I did hear Japan was easier as well.
