I recently accepted an offer for a K28 retourné and I'm very happy with the bag. However, I'm thinking of getting something of a similar size, for crossbody use and the 24/24 popped into the picture. I already have an Evelyne PM and a Picotin 18. Do any of you own a 24/24 29 or mini? How do they compare to the K28 in terms of size/ weight? Which of those two sizes would you recommend? I'm 5'2, ordinary/slim build and would use it as an everyday bag, if any or both fit an ipad air, then that would be a bonus. Many thanks!

Curious why you don’t get a crossbody strap for the K28?

As @880 correctly recalled, I do have a 24/24, but mine is the 35 and thus has no strap. I have been looking at the 29 for all the same reasons that you mention so if you end up going that direction, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I know @cakeymakeybakey likes her 29 so she may have more info to share re capacity, etc.

Yes, @tinkerbell68 is absolutely correct. I have the size 29 in Bleu Nuit Togo with Noir Swift trim, and in addition to the thin leather strap that came with, I purchased two longer 105 cm crossbody straps from Shoulderbagstrap on Etsy. One is the thin Flipperball style canvas, and the other is a thicker guitar strap style in a blue/black/red/ivory herringbone.

I ADORE this bag. It's low-key elegant, under the radar, capacious, easy to carry, and pretty fuss-free. You don't have to fiddle with sangles to open or close it, it's a one-handed operation to get into the bag when it's on your shoulder or across your body. I don't have an iPad Air, but I do have an iPad mini, and it fits, along with my little Bolide cosmetics pouch, my compact Bearn wallet, my Dogon card case, my Calvi card case, my Bastia coin purse, a small Hermessence perfume atomizer, my inhaler, a small pack of tissues, a tiny thing of hand sanitizer, and a spare mask. My iPhone XS Max fits into the back slip pocket, and I'm good to go for the whole day.

I got this bag because I am not a Kelly or Birkin kind of girl, but I wanted a bag that was hand carry or over the shoulder and had that distinctive Hermès je ne sais quoi. This bag ticks all the boxes for me, so much so that I recently also got the size 35 in Toile and Cassis Swift with no strap to use as a work/travel bag.

HIGHLY recommend the 24/24 size 29.

I think @cakeymakeybakey and @tinkerbell68 both have a larger 24/24
And I vaguely @maxroxxherhandbags had some observations re carrying one when she tried on the size 29 or 31?
I tried the size 29 and personally was underwhelmed by it:
My main reasons were:
Where the strap attached at the back seemed to make the bag hang in a way that just didn't feel or look right-perhaps with a longer X body strap as mentioned by @cakeymakeybakey the bag would hang better.
I found it smaller than I expected-once I'd opened the flap the opening seemed smaller than I'd like and I felt due to this it would bother me.
Visually (and this is purely my personal taste)I didn't like the way the size 29 looked when worn by the handle (I feel the same about the Birkin 30) It wasn't slouchy or relaxed as I would like.
The 35 I feel is more to my PERSONAL aesthetic despite the lack of a long strap.
This said many people love the 29 in the 24/24 so I would strongly advise to try it first and make sure it works for you.
Had I not done so I would have pulled the trigger on one on the 2nd hand marketplace and regretted it.

I can understand all of your reasons for not liking the 29, and I will wholeheartedly agree with you that the 35 is the freaking bomb. I mean, who wouldn't love this look?!?

Chiming in… I have both K28 and 29… but I am a hand-carry girl and will tuck my 29 under my arm if I need both hands in a pinch The 29 is more understated (although mine is in Touch and in Craie Togo - so maybe not as stealth), heavier than K28 because of Togo leather, and no feet. The smaller 21 may be better suited for cross-body wear (and back-pack option)… and perhaps in a colour that is not prone to colour transfer if you choose to wear closer to your body. There are a few videos out there on how to wear the 21 multiple ways…

Sorry, don’t have side-by-side comparison pic but here’s one taken at similar angle (close enough?)… and dressed similarly (twilly and rodeo)… I have to say, though, maybe I do like my accessories to pop a little bit

Truth be told, I only dress up the bags with BOTH twilly AND rodeo when going to the boutique… in reverence to the brand…. More often, I carry mine naked, or just the twilly on the 29 because it’s white…. or maybe one or the other but not both

My full feedback on my impressions of the 29 can be read here 4th post down...
I do still have the 35 on my list as every time I see a photo of one worn my heart does somersaults!

I love, love, love the 29. I have other bags but I've worn mine almost daily for two years. It's chic but casual and holds everything with room to spare. I just bought another. Dare I say it--I prefer it to my Birkin. Less ostentatious.

I agree, I don't love the strap or strap attachment. I love a cross-body and added a 105mm strap so I have the option, but frankly it looks better hands-held. Further, cross-body sometimes pulls at the shoulder so clothes don't hang correctly, and then there's the risk the bag will rub on the shoulder and side of a jacket or sweater and cause excessive wear. For those reasons, I prefer this hand-held.
