I might have to break my WG preference! I never really liked YG before, because I was used to lower-end quality gold... When I bought my SO his YG Cartier Love bracelet, I marveled at the luminous quality of the yellow gold! He bought me the WG Love, because I am NEVER taking this baby off, so it was the wiser choice.
But... I dunno. The MOP seems to go better with the YG.

Oh Surfergirl!!!!
After seeing lovely Charlotte with the wg MOP I am second guessing my own decision...
I ordered two 10 motif yg MOP strands.....

I'm right with you. If I just looked at the two pieces side by side, like 5 links of each, I'd choose the YG as the more beautiful.

If I had to choose a 10 motif I'd choose the YG as it somehow does look dressier/richer/more like pearls, which I associate with YG for some reason.

But if you are looking for something to wear with jeans and out for dinner, and are looking for a 20 motif right now, I'd get the WG.

In the end, after all my changing my mind, I ended up with the 20 motif WG/MOP, 5 motif YG/MOP bracelet, 5 motif WG/TURQ bracelet, and the mini YG/MOP earrings! :) SO you can see, I never really did settle on one colour! But I think if you are even thinking of getting the YG/ONYX one day and want to wear it with jeans and a tee as well as out... I think maybe the WG is the way to go.

Either way you REALLY cannot go wrong!!!

ps if you're wondering if the WG/MOP looks as elegant as the YG doubled up... just look at lovely Charlotte in this scene! Seeing this scene after I'd bought it was like opening a present from Santa! :)

I am going through the same thought process right now!!
While trying on the necklaces tomorrow...take a peek at the turquoise. It's SO pretty and after the price increase will be 17K.....
This is a very dangerous addiction......

wow, surfergirljen, we are SO on the same page! i completely agree:

when i look at the 5 motif bracelet - i love the YG (and bought it)
when i try on the 10 motif necklace - i love the YG (looks dressier, classic, richer, and looks better with my skin tone)
BUT
when i try on the 20 motif necklace - i love the WG (maybe because it sits on my clothes and not on my skin so my skin tone doesn't matter) and because it's longer, the WG just adds to the casual, light vibe. so perfect with tee and jean. and i love that doubled up pic of charlotte from SATC.

UGH! obviously i'm not ready to make a decision even with the few days that are left. i just need to get myself to a boutique tomorrow and try them all on. and then it totally depends on what i'm wearing to the store. i guess a black tee and is most neutral. then, i'll come home with the yg onyx, LOL!!!

i'll let you know how it goes tomorrow after i visit the boutique.

I think you have to get the WG... so much more casual and wearable! :)

OMG! That photo above convinces me that I am getting the 20 motif MOP alhambra with WG next. Not before the price increase but next. I already have 2 MOP 10's and I love them but I agree they have a little more bling than the WG. I still wear them all the time together or single 10 but I love the WG one especially for the casual lifestyle in my city. I always thought I would go for the 20 turquoise next but after seeing that photo........

kat, thanks so much for posting your pic! it looks so beautiful on you! btw, i totally checked out your blog last night. so entertaining, full of eye candy - fun stuff! love it! and your yg onyx is so beautiful too. i have a soft spot for yg mop but your pic flipped me to wg since it would go better with my current casual mom lifestyle.

leaving for the boutique in 1 hour! woo hoo! can't wait to see what i end up loving.
