This is disgusting. The irony of this is that I've found Hermes scarves at Savers that were handled better than TRR treated your scarves. I paid (probably) 2% of the price THE REAL REAL charges!

Here's some information. Post on their Facebook and Twitter!

I don’t have experience consigning with them, but I purchased a CSGM several years ago. It arrived here crumpled up in the box, just like they packed yours. It was described in very good condition, but has so many runs I gave up counting. I almost returned it, but the shawl is so pretty otherwise, so I didn’t want to send it back.

So, I have 22 Hermes scarves I wanted to sell and while I am on tMP, I wanted to try out The Real Real. I sent them 24 scarves, packed carefully in boxes, some new with tags. One scarf they sold without my permission on a price. One scarf they rejected. The rejected scarf was returned to me out of its box, loose in a cardboard box. We couldn't agree on a price for sale for the others, and I asked them to return all 22 scarves. I also asked them to pack them carefully. They said they would pack them with care and return them. I opened the boxes and this is a sample of what they sent back. I am shocked that a company claiming to be experts with luxury goods would treat my scarves with such callous neglect. I don't know what to do now. Dry cleaning will ruin them further and change the hems, textures, and they will never be the same. This is a warning to not use The Real Real and a call for help as to what to do. My insurance company, CSAA, says I don't have a claim because it isn't "vandalism" (I disagree, obviously). Below are 4 samples from the 22. All 22 scarves are balled up, and flattened and squished. I'm so sad. Anyone have an ideas for me?

I am always warning people about checking reseller scarves for bonus wrinkles , even ones that are sold as new , this is why - no matter who the seller is
Try investing in a good quality steamer - the cheap ones are worthless imho - a professional one like in stores

Oh yes, it is. I don't want to ruin TRR's livelihood or trade, I just want them to be more careful with people's items. This is bad for people purchasing, as well. Do they send out purchased scarves in the same condition? That's what I was wondering about.
Yes, for purchasers, they do send out scarves in crappy packaging, too. I have bought a lot of scarves from them and almost always take a pic of the box before I open them. They are packed shoddily and often they are crunched up in the Hermes box (if they come with one). If they don't come with a box, then they're tossed into a TRR bag crunched up. They accept returns on scarves, so for me, it's worth the risk. Now, contrast that with Fashionphile who packs things in lovely, careful packages.

You just reminded me - I didn’t get a box for the shawl I bought. It was crumpled up inside a TRR bag.

Complaints are galore about how TRR ships items & how they misrepresent size & condition.
The general shopping thread has a thread with many posts about TRR.
It should not happen but it does. It also makes one wonder how well trained their so called
"specialists" are in describing & packing items . They shove everything into these mesh bags that have an awful scent
& there is no tissue paper or anything that would protect an item.

Fashionphile does send a purchased item to you in a lovely carefully wrapped box. Beautiful presentation. Every single time.
BUT.....they returned my Birkin to me (when they ended up lowering their quote) in a box.....no paper , no padding, no protection......just a floating bag in a box from CA to the east coast. They did not even place the Birkin in the dustbag. When I originally mailed it to them I put it in the dustbag and wrapped it in bubble wrap....probably overwrapped actually.

Same issue here. They returned an LV hat box to me in a box that it barely fit in, no packing, with the dustbag stuffed inside.

This is nothing. (Not to undermine scarf wrinkles) I'm only joking.. I'm just not at all surprised by their lack of care. Back when I attempted to still purchase the occasional high-end bag from them, my last straw was a $2k Celine that was gorgeous on the website, but arrived with the handles flattened/bent under itself, and crammed in the box. AND the sharp plastic red security tag they attach had scratched a 3" long imprint into the front of the leather bag during shipment. No secure wrapping. The handles came out shaped liked number 8's and squished down. I wasn't even going to attempt to hang the bag with weights or whatever to try to fix them.. plus the scratch from the security tag. Ugh. They offered a return at least, upon showing them photos. After several purchases with missing parts, undisclosed damage, two counterfeits, shoddy shipping and having to write to customer service on at least 5 or 6 occasions.. I now only rarely peruse their items and ONLY for returnable, smaller items. Would never trust to consign. Unless someday there is a major company overhaul.

I hope your words reach the powers-that-be! Good luck!
