To women, magazines are fashion bibles.
To men, magazines are toilet reads... along with flyers, newpapers, and take out menus!!!

... but I think it will only work if the magazine rack is cleared, flag the page... then he'll come to the realization that his darling babe NEEDS the bag! haha :roflmfao:

"Needs" Yes, I'm sure he'll fall for that one! Well, in all fairness, I don't have anything like it.......I can convince myself I need anything!:graucho:

Did you get the pink? Last minute I backed out......still lusting after the red!

Hello SilverFilly,

Here is a link from Macy's with reference to how it looks on a "person":

http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/...um-travel-tote?ID=618293#memberProductDetails

You can choose the colour you want... with different views and zooms.

I will post pix asap!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for posting the link and I'm sorry to hear about your camera. I had a recall on my camera and it was gone quite a while getting repaired - so I know how slow they can be.

Yeah, I just really like to see IRL photos as things look so different in those photos on the websites. I like the red the most. I'm interested in seeing the MK saffiano leather close up. How is it wearing with use and how are those skinny straps to carry? Thank you!

Oh trust me, women can justify every.single.purchase! lol That's why hub hub never argues with me... when he starts the "why do you need another black bag when you have 5 already?"... that's when I stay calm and say: "Well, can't you not watch tv on a 30"? Why 50"?"... ooooh, the silence and look on his face... priceless....:giggles:

Not yet gotten the electric pink... still thinking... but it is a great deal I must say.

Go with red if that is what you are lusting after! You dont want to get something only having to return it because it is not.the.one., you know what I mean? Let us know! :p

I know what you mean... sometimes bags looks amazing in photo but oh-so-not IRL. Once I get my camera back, I will snap some mod pix!! :D

Red is gorgeous - a very nice pop to any outfit!! I am not sure whether you have access to a Prada store, but the MK saffiano is less stiff compared to Prada's signature pieces. I think this is the reason because the bag is less structured and has nothing to do with differences in leather quality.

Saffiano is a very tough leather and it can be easily cleaned with a soft wipe and warm water. I have read that mens Prada saffiano wallets tend to scratch and soften more easily than totes in general but I guess we can make the basic assumption that it is because men tend to keep their wallets in their back pockets where heat and the shape of their bums contribute to those characteristics.

Here is the link to the tote on MK site:

http://www.michaelkors.com/p/MICHAE...-Medium-Travel-Tote-Black-Totes/prod13700008/

If you click "Zoom" below the image, you can put your cursor over the image to get a better view of the leather itself. Of course, this doesnt beat seeing it IRL. Again, I will post pix once I get my camera back... sorry for the delay!

The skinny straps: IMO, they are relatively comfy on shoulders. I think that when you are wearing something a little more bulky, like a winter coat or a thick sweater, the bag rests better than the LV NF MM as the drop is a little longer. However, one thing to be honest about, if you are going to haul like heavy stuff in it (at one time, I had three bottles of water, wallet, a hard cover book, phone, a cosmetic pouchie, iPad, an umbrella and a glass lunch box), it will dig into your shoulders... but the pro to this is that it can carry a lot of weight!!! :D I was worried that the straps might snap, but nope, nothing happened, so I am happy to confirm that it is indeed a well-designed bag.

I hope this helps!

I purchased the medium luggage color today from Macy's. I'm not a fan of the quality of leather. It's not the soft, supple leather we've come to love on MK accessories. The size is perfect, it doesn't sag when I put my heavy laptop inside, the color is pretty but it kinda reminds me of cardboard because the leather is so stiff. It's going back tomorrow. On the hunt again to another work/travel tote...

If only there were stores like Prada in Montana :D. It's a 2 1/2 hour drive just for me to go to Dillard's. Our best department store where I live is Herberger's (like Younkers). I think in the end it probably saves me money and I buy less, but dang when you do buy something and are dissatisfied the costs of returning items can really add up.

I sure wish there was a better closure on the bag, I was really hoping for a zipper or even a magnetic snap - although maybe most people prefer open totes. I'm happy to hear that the bag is performing well for you. I envisioned the exact same thing about the straps snapping or becoming detached somehow from the bag . I'm glad that hasn't happened to you. I do think the skinnier strap, maybe not the most comfortable strap in the world, is a classier look. Everything to me about the bag is timeless, it's a classic tote/shopper. The buckles too. However, I do not like the MK logo hanger.....I would remove the MK logo and I'd have to find something else to hang from it. Perhaps a hookup heart in goldtone. I'm still shopping for that perfect red tote and maybe this one will be it.......;)

Thank you for all your help!

@af4shoppin: I thought the same thing on the first day of using the bag – the leather is too stiff, structured, and feels like thick cardboard. But I assure you that the leather will soften up with use.

Saffiano leathers are tanned in Italy's famous and prestigious tanneries. The grained leather is tanned with plant extracts, then deep-dyed to the desired colour. This gives the pattern special depth and modernity. Saffiano is water- and scratch-resistant.

I hope you will change your mind – it is a beautiful bag!

@Silver Filly: I know what you mean when you say the returning costs adds up in the long run! Luckily for me, I live in downtown so I travel very short distances to get to the stores... maybe like 15 minutes or so on public transit. Plus, I really like touching and feeling actual products before purchasing; that way, I can check for stains, rips, tears, scratches etc.

I thought the bag would be better if there was more security to the opening, however, if a zipper was added to the top, it will alter the shape and it won’t provide that “casual relax” look that it is trying to image. For my bags, I usually use a bag organizer and I always put my wallet in the zipped compartment to ensure that people will have great difficulty accessing it haha!

Straps: The skinny straps does not look promising but so far, it is holding up pretty well. Plus, the added bonus of having thinner straps is that it will mould to your shoulders much quicker - providing comfort. The gold hardware is definitely a nice elegant touch – making it simple yet classy like you’ve indicated.

Bag Charm: I agree with you regarding the hanging MK logo that comes with the bag. I removed it as well and added this:

http://www.michaelkors.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod12030049&parentId=cat34703&masterId=cat144&index=3&cmCat=cat000000cat144cat34703&isEditorial=false

I got it in the natural colour... it makes the charm pop while at the same time provides a great contrast in terms of textures! My friend got the red tote and added the same charm but in black... very very cute! <-- soemthing to consider haha :graucho::graucho::graucho:

Let me know what you think! :smile1::p

i am the same way, must touch and feel the bag before buying it. i will definatley need to test the straps with heavy load of stuff to see how it will sink into my shoulder.

Very cute charm, and love the bag organizer idea. would you mind sharing your bag organizer? i've been wanted to get one but have never seem one IRL, are there any local store sells them?

want to add, Macys is having a Friends and Family sale now, its 25% off and it works on this bag, i am debating if i should just cancel my Bloomingdales order (20% + 10% off) and get it from Macys for 25% off instead.
