Hi all Rolex lovers!

I am purchasing my first ever Rolex. I currently have a SS longines and 2-T tag ladies aquaracer. I have always wanted a rolex. I have made good stride in my career and thought what better way to mark this than get my dream rolex!

After looking at different watches in different ADs, I pretty much have decided on the 31mm, fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. Problem is, can’t decide on the dial .

I have the all-too-familiar dilemma. What should I choose?
1. SS with bronze dial (technically, this is 2-tone as the bezel is white gold, but for this purpose, I just put in SS)
2. 2-T everose gold with pink champagne dial diamond.

HELP! Any opinions will be much appreciated!

P.S I have posted pics below. For reference, I’m quite small, 4’10, 98 lbs but still prefer the 31mm.

I personally like the SS bronze...that will keep its value the best. Keep in mind that watches are like wine and everything else - buy what you love, and make sure you LOVE what you buy!
I have two Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual 34 mm stainless band with champagne dial (very sporty) and the recent 50th bday gift of the 31 Datejust in rolesor yellow/steel two tone with silver dial. More formal, and sparkly
I know "pink" gold is VERY TRENDY right now, but I feel it is at its peak, and we'll start to see people going back to the classics of white, platinum and yellow. I sort of feel that pink makes the luxury watch just a tiny bit more casual and youthful, and that it should be left for things like fashion watches if you're really only wearing it for casual day use. You also have to sort of convert all your jewelry to include the new pink and rose hues (although that can be fun in and of itself haha!)
Keep in mind that Rolexes usually keep their value, expecially the all stainless models, so you can always sell it and get something else. The precious metals don't hold their value as much.
Have fun shopping, and congrats!!!!!

Hi perpetualgirl!

Thanks for a very honest reply. I have to admit I can’t get that bronze dial off my mind, but I have always been a “pinky”-sort of girl , so that’s where the dilemma comes from.

I have posted pics below - and would be happy if you can comment either way. Top is the bronze vs the everose 2-T and below is still the bronze but vs the pink dial in SS. Would you still prefer bronze?

TIA!

I agree that you should buy what you love and love what you buy. I have a Pearlmaster 34 in RG with chocolate dial and diamond numeral, as well as the Datejust 31 in SS and YG, scattered diamonds bezel and silver dial with diamond numeral, oyster bracelet. I love them both, my heart flutters little bit whenever I look down and see my wrist... I never considered resale value as they are pieces that I plan on having for a very very long time and are for my personal enjoyment! So I think you should go with whatever gives you that special little feeling .. Hope this helps!
Oh, and I think the pinky tone looks nice against your skin ;)

Edit: That being said, I know how difficult the decision making process can be! I spent weeks contemplating different combinations before I finally made up my mind!

I like the pink diamond dial with 2t ever rose jubilee bracelet. For me Rolex and diamond go together. Both of my Rolex have diamonds in it. I'd recommend to go for whatever you love. If down the line, you get bored of that dial, you can always switch it to something else. All the Rolex AD switch dials based on the model number (you can only choose those dials which were available for your model so its not "Franken").

Honestly, you can't go wrong with Rolex so go with your heart and congrats for the new career jump.

They both look great! I love the bronze ss combo but I’m a real fan of rosegold despite the naysayers who think it’s a trend. If it looks great with your skintone it’s a nice upgrade from all stainless or white tt. I actually find the Rolex yellow gold to be too bright for me and the rosegold works better for my skintone. Rosegold has been around a long time and some premium watchmakers make most of their watches in rosegold or stainless. I think for you there is no wrong choice and rosegold would not be a mistake.

I like one on your last picture. The Pink Dial in SS without diamonds. Clean, Sophisticated and elegant

After looking at the second picture, I agree your skin does look really nice with the pink tones of the pink gold. Someone above mentioned that your yellow gold ring doesn't quite match the rose though. That's my dilemma with the pink gold, is that you almost have to start a third jewelry color for a new watch if it is very different from your current jewelry. I have blonde hair and yellow skin, so for me yellow and silver is a better match. We're all different!

Have you considered a rose gold watch with a chocolate dial? Then you would get that bronze look you love, plus the pink tone of the gold that looks really nice with your skin tone...but I must say that bronze dial SS looks amazing with your silver jewelry. Can you buy BOTH???? ;)

Here's the rose/SS with chocolate dial...

I know right! I am on my 2nd month now - is that that crazy?! It was easier buying my bag - took me 2weeks to settle on “the one”.

With the pinky tone, you mean the SS pink or the everose gold with the sundust dial? For reference, I have attached more pics. I really appreciate your input!!!
