I thin it depends where in Asia. My understanding is that for example in Tokyo it is very easy. I was there earlier this year and was offered a birkin in every one of the 3 shops I visited.

I heard that its easier to get a birkin in nyc madison ave. If you dont see it on the shelf, just ask. High chance they have something in the back if you are not picky with leather or color. Even if you are not their regular customer.

You guys are so lucky in the US. Not only do we Londoners have to deal with rubbish service in general (have you seen Mary Portas' TV series about bad customer service?) but the Hermes stores aren't helpful here - unless you so happen to be holding a H already. It's definitely harder for first-timers in the UK than US.

Heard it's a lot more expensive than other places in Asia...So no chance in Asia other than japan?

Yes tokyo is at least 20-30 percent more expensive since the last time I checked but they do have alot more stock

Uh, last time I checked, Hermes bags were made to be sold. It should not be necessary to bribe a sales associate in order to purchase one. I so hope this is a joke.

Also, I heard that Madison gets 2 shipments, morning and afternoon per day, 3-4 times per week. Wow!!! I think they're getting double of what we get in the west coast (and wished all those orange boxes had my name on them...wishful thinking).

Hi, May I know how late is afternoon shipment do you know? I work Monday - Thrus. and get out at 4-5pm. Do you think it will be to late to stop by after work?

I never expected my DH of getting it for me but 1 day he told me if I can find a H bag then just buy it. I was like is this a JOKE?

So yeah, I'm looking for one but what is the chance of getting 1 at the Madison store? I even checked on ebay and other consignment site but either they charge a lot over retail or the age of the bag is old.

So sorry you had a bad experience, but if I were you I'd keep trying, noone said it was easy but with a little perseverance most of us were able to get our first HG birkin. Good luck!

Hi, what are you looking for? We all know that the initial stages of being a newbie here, we are at the mercy of the H's employees. I know it's not right, but it's how it is until you reach a certain status in this orange world.
Think of it like hiring a personal trainer. You're paying the guy to make you sweat, suffer and come up with new stuff to torture you. For what? So you can look and feel great right?
Anyway, if you're trying to get a certain bag, you can't go in thinking just ask and they'll hand it over, especially if they don't know you. Those are fairy tales though sometimes luck gets involved. You have to stratigize.
You can go the normal route and find an SA... or find a friend with a great relationship and have them request... or come up with a plan. It sounds like a pain but it is fun and the anticipation and reward...exhilarating. Good luck.
