[I found an older thread similar to this, but they were about Canada and the US, so I figured to start a new one.]
My question is, how do you bring your designer bag collection when moving overseas? (more details below)
I’m in Singapore and will be moving to Australia soon and I plan to bring my bags in my carry on. I wonder:
1) do I need to declare each of my bags even if they are all personal used items?
2) will I get taxed on them?
3) what happens if I no longer have all the receipts? Is that ok?
It’s not a lot, about 10 bags in the $2000-$3000 range (carry on), and another <10 contemporary bags $100-500 range (checked in).
I know I also have the option to have them flown out via air freight, but I’d be a little more comfortable to bring them with me on the plane. What do you guys think?
