Help me understand the "open bag" thing...

Even for the bags that do have zippers, I never zip them closed. I just like easy access! All I need is one good pickpocket to teach me a lesson, though...

Mon, there have been a few times when my open top bags have tipped over and had everything spill out =\ It happens with my unzipped bags too. I guess I'm just clumsy!

I like the accessability it offers. I only carry a wallet and cellphone and the attached zip pouch I use for make-up. As long as I don't swing the bag around like an ape, everything pretty much stays secure inside. I never leave it unattended though.

Anyway, LuLu the trick is to get a back that doesn't tip over.

The bucket doesn't seem so bad due to the fact that it is a bit deeper and can be clinched against the arm but I would be really paranoid of the Reade PM!! That bag is so shallow I'd be scared of contents spilling out. Does anyone here own one? Comments?

I don't like open bags either. Either stuff falls out when tipped over, or I'm apprehensive about getting my wallet stolen (I'm from a big city, and live in a large-ish city now).

An open top, if it's expensive, has deterred me from getting bags, such as the Celine Boogie.
