Help me find a black handbag!!

Great Post! I'm looking foe the exact same thing!!! I keep saying I must buy a black leather purse next, but keep ending up with any other color! I agree it must be big, have shoulder straps and cost $500 or less. It's harder to find nice bags that aren't $1000 plus when you need a substancial size!

I like the Rafe, Cole Haan and the 2nd bag pictured in the post above and a Botkier on eBay (which still scares me - I did buy 2 things last week but am still waiting on to see if they are real!) I also don't live in a cosmopolitian city and must buy mostly on=line which stinks as I really want to see it in person before I buy.

Keep us updated as to what you get and kep those great ideas coming. I'll let you know what I get too. (Just had surgery on my wrist and can't drive for another week so I will be on-line shopping!!!!

just checked out activeendevers.com fo the 2nd bag pictured above, it's called the Natailia and is actually dark brown made by Kooba. It is reaaly nice though and I saw awsome plum coloreded bag too.

The third bag in the picture is by Andrea Bruekner (sp?), called the saddle bag. It seems to be quite popular and capacious. I've heard good things about it - I'd kill for the large in tan.

I really like the Andrea Bruekner that looks like a weaved pattern. i'm going to go to the mall to see where i can look at it in person.

i like the Kooba too but the studs on it make me think that its more trendy than classic.

I have always liked the Kooba Sienna. Think it's a daily bag with a little bit of edge. Perhaps the Sienna in black?

Okay iluvbags, your gonna have to let us know which bag you decide on! Thanks to your post and all of the wonderful suggestions I've decided that I'm goning to go with BOTKIER! I wanted one of their bags anyway. Now what do you all think? The Stirup, Trigger or Convertible (all in black)? I'm gonna try to post pictures of them.

Wow, it worked (kinda) here is what I bought while i was trying to decide what black bag I did want. I have to shop on-line for the next couple of weeks. I got the wallet from eBay from chemlex daily purse deals.

I went to the mall today and saw the lunch bag tote by Cole Haan and really liked that.

The only thing was I could not find it in black and I'm not sure that I want a bag that does not zip shut. Also judging from the website, the black bag is trimed in tan. Not sure I like that either.

I also went to the Fendi store for the first time thanks to Noriko and saw the Spy bag in person. Too bad its totally out of my budget. But it is a beautiful bag. Buying a bag thats over $2,000 for me would mean that I couldnt buy another bag for the next 6 months. No thanks.

Guess I have to keep looking. Oh, I saw the Kooba bag (don't know that name) but its a hobo style. Those look too much like my two Isabella Fiore whipflash bags so I had to pass. No one had a Kooba sienna for me to look at. Sooooooo......still looking

I looked at the Cole Haan lunch tote too and the reason I didn't want it was that i did want it to zip shut. Ii dump too much stuff out of mine somehow without the zipper not to mention that I think that it would be sooo easy to steal stuff out of the purse. Of course I don't have anythiing worth stealing in my bag except for the bag itself, well and the wallet.

I agree about the zipper. if it were a little deeper of a bag then i wouldnt mind so much. But its so small that it really could be easy for something to fall out I think. But its a nice bag for the price. the color that i saw in the store was cream. Very nice looking in person
