Xanadu - If you are unsure about the bracelet why not buy the oyster bracelet separately? I bought my Rolex two months ago - the final decision was the mid-size pink dial with luminous batons (my DH has an Omega Seamaster and I was so envious that he could read the time in the dark), fluted bezel and the oyster bracelet, but I also brought a jubilee bracelet as well so the two can be swapped for different occasions. The bracelets really change the look, it is like having two different watches. Here in the UK the jubilee bracelet currently retails at £720. Good luck with your choice you cannot go wrong, they are all lovely.

thanks guys for all your input!
yes, i've sort of decided on the classic: jubilee, fluted, stainless midsize datejust roman ;)

the more i see the jubilee bracelet in pictures, the more i'm liking it, especially with the invisible clasp

i guess i just have to see it in white/pink/silver dial or even champagne. i hope it's weekend already, i'm excited to go and try it on.

which dial color do you guys prefer and why?

I like the white and I plan on checking out the champagne. I already have one with a silver (rhodium) and I have a Cartier roadster with a pink face. So I'm looking for something different. I eliminated blue yesterday and never cared for black. I don't want to spend extra on MOP. So for me, it is white or maybe champagne!

Good choice! You can't go wrong with such a timeless classic! Any of those dial colors would look great, just see what you like best on your wrist in person:yes:

making the decision is much harder than i thought it would be!
i guess it's because of the value of the watch, i don't want to be having second thoughts after i've bought it.

so i've initially decided on the ff: midsize stainless jubilee fluted roman.

and then i see it IRL, i feel that being in midsize, the fluted jubilee looks a little too busy/flashy. i think someone has mentionted that it looks better with the ladies size and i agree. also that the watch being in midsize, i think it looks better with oyster bracelet, casual and subtle in its simplicity. BUT, i'm still loving the jubilee bracelet with the hidden clasp!
i'm basically back to square one, torn between the 2 bands.

for oyster, domed bezel: i find its simplicity elegant, it goes well with the midsize IMO. however, the clasp is not so nice, too normal-looking.

for jubilee, fluted: it really has a classic look. probably has the most resale value too. for someone like me who has an amateur eye on luxury watches, seeing the jubilee bracelet is how i spot a rolex!

for jubilee, domed: i'm still undecided. i'm liking it because of the clasp and with the domed bezel, it tones it down a bit. lola24's watch looked good. i'm just a little apprehensive because the combo is not the norm.. the SA said so.

sorry for the ramblings.. waaah! :confused1: cannot make up my mind yet!

I like Lola24's watch too. It is nice to not have what everyone has. You would be surprised but I have seen jubilee with domed (not fluted) bezel in a few other places. It is a tough decision. I was back and forth a million times when I got my mid-size. I ended up with stainless Rhodium Roman on jubilee and fluted. Now I want a ladies two-tone with diamond markers and can't decide on face color. Today my feeling is white! But I can't get until mid 2009 so I'll probably keep changing my mind. But I totally prefer the jubilee bracelet and for me would not get anything else. Good luck!

I have the midsize datejust with a jubilee brac and dome bezel, all stainless steel and I think they look great together. I didn't care for the fluted and I figured why pay 1,000.0 for the fluted when I didn't love it. This is my only rolex and I did go with the silver concentric, sight unseen. I am so glad I did. It may not be as classic, but it adds a little something extra, just having the added texture.

I tried to post my pictures a long time ago and they were too big, maybe DH will help me and I can try again so you can see it.

For me I didn't care for how sporty the oyster brac. was. I liked the pink salmon) face, but after seeing it with the two-tone band, I new I would want that combo and it was beyond my budget.

Good luck with your decision. I know I went and looked at my local store and on line alot before I decided. Take your time and goodness knows they are all gorgeous- you can't go wrong!!!!

I will try to post pictures soon!

I didn't realize that fluted was $1,000 more. Perhaps I can save $1,000 on my two-tone by going with jubilee and domed bezel. Does anyone know price of two-tone ladies jubilee with domed bezel with diamond markers but NO MOP? I know it costs $8800 with all above and fluted bezel. So if I'm understanding correctly, then it would cost $7800 with domed bezel. Please confirm!

I don't think Rolex makes that option in two tone because the bezel would be 18K yellow gold...I think I have seen a smooth 18k yellow gold bezel on an oyster but the price would probably be about the same as it is also 18K gold...

In this month's Harper Bazaar - p.47 I believe - I thought the two-tone jubilee with blue face did have a domed bezel. Now I want to go back to Barnes & Noble to look at magazine ad again! Does anyone else know if you can do the domed bezel on two-tone?

Was it a yellow gold or white bezel? I think you can do it with a yellow gold dome bezel just not the stainless dome bezel if your going with a two tone watch...

I think you are correct. My rolex is all stainless steel, including the smooth dome. I could have done a fluted bezel, but it would have been 1,000.0 more and I wasn't crazy about it. I think if you go two-tone, you can't do the stainless steel dome- I'm pretty sure the only way to get the stainless steel dome is with a stainless steel watch - HTH! It does get a tad bit confusing!!!!!!

I think you can only get the stainless steel domed bezel with the stainless steel watch- that's how I saved the 1,000. Mine is all stainless steel, including the domed bezel. I think if you are wanting two-tone, you will have to go with the more expensive bezel. Please be sure so check with your ARD to be sure. I bought my rolex a year ago and perhaps things have changed, I certainly wouldn't want to mislead anyone. This is how it worked for me and I did go through an authorized RD. Good Luck!
