Help - How Old Is This Bag?

Well, I see a "T" and no circle to my naked eye. Here's the thing. I don't know how much you paid for the bag but it looks to be in fantastic condition for such an oldie. Any flaking? Dryness?

I love vintage bags and have a number of them.....if they are in great condition I will pay the going price because I appreciate it for what it is. If, however, it arrive and in condition NOT DESCRIBED and you feel you'd like a bit of a rebate because of that, then I would suggest you bring it to the attention to the seller and I would ask for an adjustment on the price.

A vintage Lizard Kelly in excellent condition with some age on her will command a decent amount of money.

The bag doesn't look as good IRL? that's too bad.... I hope the seller will be courteous.

He/she said they were running a business and couldn't just take it back "FOR NO REASON." Don't you think 15 years is good reason?

here's another shot of the beast:

well the reason would be: not exactly as described? 15 years age difference....
are you really sure you don't want it? even with let's say a discount?

A 35 cm lizard Kelly is truly a rare find. I would guess that you will not ever find another. I have 2 vintage H bags from the 60's and the workmanship is incredible. The stitches in these 60's Kellys are smaller than in the later Kellys.
If you love lizard, I would treasure the bag. If you have decided that lizard is not your cup of tea, that is another issue.

Dear Golconda - I really appreciate your taking an interest in this issue. Yes, the bag has tiny stitches - broken in front flap, but easily fixable. It is nice in the larger size. It is lovely, in a vintage way.

But I do not understand why you are not addressing the basic issue of a *reputable* reseller being so *irresponsible* about their listing. The bag should have been accurately described so I could have evaluated the purchase price of $6.5K in light of the true age of the purse. The purse is 50% older than stated. Perhaps an assistant listed the purse for them and did not take the effort that a professional and expert in the field would have/should have done.

I have to ask, do you privately know about this transaction? Are you associated with the seller? I have gone out of my way to protect his/her identification. It simply could have been an assistant's listing. But that is not the kind of emails I have received from seller.

I agree with you topdrawerjewels... you would think they would list the listing right (I have no idea about the seller or the listing you are referring too) and can understand that therefor you felt misled...

Apart from that.... do you still like this particular bag?

do I understand correctly the seller won't take the bag back?

why would you assume that golconda knows or is associated with the seller? she was giving an opinion about the bag in general from what i can see.

honestly if you're not happy just file a claim with pp. see if you can get in writing from someone a true estimate of the age of the bag and go from there.

LZ also has a brand new green lizard birkin for $9-10K.
It's gorgeous. Pics are posted over in the thread "Lizard lovers - let's talk." He has such good prices. I've happily bought from him several times, and he's very helpful.
