Help! First vintage Hermes Kelly!

Hi All, turns out that there was some re-dyeing done on the bag! VC sent me the picture below. They said there are traces of paint on the zip! I had asked the seller before the purchase and they profusely refused! I am thinking of cancelling the order. What is your opinion?

Alas, it’s not meant to be! So annoyed and gutted!

@Raaz, I have been looking for a leather rouge H strap for years on the resale market. I have never found one in box leather in rouge H. The other problem is that rouge H has changed over time and if you find one, it may not be a color match. I have the chevre rouge H strap that goes with the toile Kelly, so if I really want a leather strap on it, I can use that one.

You can special order it at your boutique but the wait can be long.
I found mine last week in Paris after searching on the internet for a year.
It’s swift leather and epsom and look more brown than box. I don’t really mind the contrast as it’s such a beautiful strap / match

I’m so sorry! I personally would not take it as Hermes spa will refuse to repair it.
You’ve got plenty of vintage options with this color of Kelly.
But If you’re ok with having it serviced by a third party (like mademoisellem on Instagram) why not

I would not take it, as @kittynui says- no Hermes Spa possible any more. Plus, you don’t know which paint was used and who did it in which quality. Personally, I would be afraid that the paint has damaged or will damage the leather internally over time and I guess you will only learn this when it is to late.

It is for sure very disappointing when you are excited and looking forward to the bag but I think you have other options in this colour and style. It might be worth the wait.

I do not get why people feel that the can get away with not disclosing important facts during a sale process, and, even worse, why anyone would choose to be dishonest with the intent to withhold clearly important information for one’s personal gain. Could not do that and look at myself in the mirror.

I'm so sad to hear this.
I know that Vestiaire is often pretty dreadful but when they are good they are very good.
I wanted to buy a Jypsiere pre-pandemic from them and they flagged much more wear on the bag than was shown in the images.
I cancelled the order.
I did wonder when I saw the images you posted if the bag had been re-dyed.
and I realise how disappointed you are (I've been there) but I would cancel your order.
Its a vintage bag and due to the re-dyeing should you need the handle or hardware replacing at some point, or the stitching repaired Hermes Spa will not touch it.
Please keep looking..the right bag will find you.

Be patient, I know how it feels when you get a bee in your bonnet about wanting and needing a specific vintage bag (i could list the ones I'm waiting for but that would bore everyone )
But as previously mentioned the right bag will find you..
It may cost more (I dont know the cost of the one you were considering) but it will be worth it in the long run.
I believe you said you were based in the UK and if so if I spot one I will DM you.

I am so sorry to hear that but you are doing the right thing. Especially since the seller was not forthright. The right bag will come along and you will be thrilled.
