My diamond studs that I wear the most are 2 ctw. I also have a .80 ctw pair of studs I wear in my second lobe piercing. I also have a single 3rd cartilage piercing which I wear either 1/3 ct stud or a .25 very small huggie hoop. AS far as Pearl studs, I wear 8 mm for causal wear & 10-11mm for dressier occasions. Gemstone studs, I prefer 5-6 mm size for daily casual wear.

They just arrived :D I'm really impressed with Blue Nile, the packaing is beautiful and it was so quick to dispatch and deliver!

just to add- I think a beautiful pair of pearl studs are timeless and can be worn by anyone for any occasion! I just ordered from saks a pair of 7mm Mikimoto pearl studs. I am a branded jewelry snob so of course i would say buy yourself (maybe a bday :) a timeless pair of mikimoto suds and then later on maybe you can add a mikimoto pearl necklace. hehe i digress

Let's see an ear shot of your new knots! I looked up the Dior tribal earrings and they are very interesting.

I have had a bad habit of not wearing earrings most days. But, I'm working on that! I've been looking at some small stud types and hope to build a small, inexpensive, great-looking everyday collection.

Here is a pic of what I'm wearing today -- my $5 Nordstrom rack "pearls". I love them! :D I feel lady-like when I wear them. :)

I am hoping to get a couple nice pairs of gold / white gold / maybe platinum earrings. Hoping to find some bargains on Ebay or something.
I've had these on my watch list for a couple days now:

Pearl studs are feet as well. I like my akoya pearls. Tahitians are good though I wear my akoyas more. If you are getting Pearl studs you can consider getting those with removable diamonds (example - the diamonds in the below pair can be removed for a 2 in 1 wear).

If you get both akoya and Tahitians - get them in different sizes because I feel size really makes a lot of difference. As you build your collection, you may want to consider different colour pearls as well (golden south sea, blue pearls etc)

OK, here is the pic of my $5 Nordstrom pearls.

This thread has been making me think: Today I sent a strand of "pearls" from Spain to my niece. Her dad, my brother, sent me a very pretty set of man made pearls when I was a teen, and he was stationed in Spain (Air Force) in the early 80's. He died from ALS several years ago.

She is in her 20's and I hope she enjoys them. They are beautiful, even as fakes.

Anyway, the $5 find! With messy hair and no makeup! I thought they looked nice when I spied them, and then $5! Impulse buy. I think they are very pretty in person.
