Help deciding between LV x YK Alma BB black, Alma BB red and Speedy 20 red *Update pic of my choice!*

I really love the LV x YK collection after seeing the pieces in person and I would love to add an infinity dot bag to my collection.

I had my eyes set on the Alma BB black or perhaps the Alma BB red. I don‘t have an Alma in my collection yet and I actually did not like the style so much despite it being a classic, but in this print, I love it!

So today I went to my local LV store to look at them in person and now I am totally indecisive and need some help!

The black Alma BB is beautiful, but indeed as the SA also said is a bit more plain and less Kusama as the red and yellow. It also did not stand out so much when carried, which is both a good and not so good point.

The red Alma BB grew more on me than I thought. Beautiful hand carried. Not so much a fan of the slightly shiny thin strap though. Especially when you wear toned down clothes (I wore grey and black), the strap when carried crossbody looks totally out of place.

The Speedy 20 in red was a surprise. The leather is beautiful and despite it having also a red strap, this did not look so much out of place because the strap is a matte leather and also has some golden rings elements at each end. However I already own a few Speedys and the Keepall 25. Though this style stands out way more.

Size wise they are all similar and would be ok for me.

How would you decide or did you decide, if you have one of these bags?

Hi - I am also a fan of this collection and have bought RTW, shoes and SLGs. It seems like you are partial to the red options. So I would focus on the red ones. I’ve seen all of these in person and you truly can’t go wrong! Lovely choices.

If you have not already owned an alma, definitely spend some time with it before buying. It can be a pain to get in and out of because of the shape, especially in the bb size. I prefer the speedy for that reason.

I think the Red Alma is going to be a great pop with whatever outfit all year round so I would go for the red.

Thank you for your opinions sofar! The red would really be a great pop of color and the tone really is lovely choosen and should be matching well with neutrals anyway.
Now thinking about it and watching a few unboxing videos, I am still unsure about the black. It is beautiful, too.

Btw. the opening and size is, why I wanted to see the Alma BB in person, I also feared that it getting thinner in the upper part might not be so practical. But playing a bit with the zip, I think it will be ok. The SA mentioned thought that the handles stand up more than with the Speedy because of its construction, so it is. Ot so easily turned downwards, e.g. if one wants to carry it crossbody.

Probably I will also go another day with a different coat to try the bags… My outfit today definetely was not favorable for the black Alma…

About the Speedy, it is superpretty, but also around 500€ more than the Alma. Also a point to think about…

I wound up getting the yellow alma, the multicolored dots pochette metis and the monochrome keepall 25. I plan on the yellow alma only being used here and there but mostly for collecting/display. The other two, especially the keepall I plan on being in my regular rotation.

I ordered the LV/YK Speedy 20 in Red because I love the size, waiting for it to arrive - I sold off all my Alma BB vernis a couple of years ago as it was tougher to carry crossbody and not as easy to get in/out of for me. I dont think you can go wrong though with any of these choices - Black + White is easier to wear with almost anything. I was considering also the Pochette Metis YK/LV but feel like its too heavy, sold those off too years ago. Its all about what works for you!

But I would definetely use it e.g. for going out to dinner or a stroll, but probably not daily as it would be to small for work and I have lots of other bags, too.
So partly I would still buy for collection purposes. I have some limited pieces, but I don‘t only purely collect them, if possible I like to use them. So similar as you do!

Btw. great choices you got from the collection! I also got the monochrome Keepall 25. That one is pretty usable because it is more toned down! This is why I am a bit hesitant with the Speedy as I have several in those shape…

I know your problem.... I too want to have different bag styles, BUT the speedy is always looking the best, cutest, .....

I personally love the speedy shape so much. I had to get the yellow because I love that color combo and I don’t have any yellow bags and I don’t have an Alma yet. If the yellow wasn’t an option, I’d get the red speedy.

To the Kusama Alma owners: how do you like your Almas sofar? Did you love your color choice? Or do you have buyers‘s remorse?

I will pop in to LV tomorrow and probably decide. Right now am settled on a Alma because I have no Alma yet. I think I tend to red because it somehow speaks to me and I think I can pull the color off because its tone is beautifully choosen and actually matches with most neutrals. I often wear black anyway. What do you think?

Guys, I ordered and prepaid the red Alma now in my flagshipstore! It is beautiful and I have no Alma yet and I love my choice! I think the red is a great color considering my usual wardrobe, while the black is similar beautiful. But I have many black pieces already and I will have fun being a bit colorful in accessoires when going out!

Unfortunately it has to be backordered, but will be there in 3-5 days, the SA says eventually even earlier! So so excited!
