So here is my dilemma. In the next few months I would like to propose to my gf and have narrowed my options down to about 4 choices. Now they are all Tiffany rings and I understand fully what I am getting in to. I understand I could find other stones elsewhere and for less, I prefer the Tiffany rings due to there quality and precision with creating a magnificant piece of jewelry. I plan on only doing this once in my lifetime so I want to pick the best ring. Ultimately it will be my decision since my gf is a novice when it comes to engagement rings and does not want to try them on or spend much time looking at designs, which makes this kind of difficult for me to pick one she will love.
I am more interested in the designs of the ring because when I go to see my SA at Tiffany's we will find the best ring for the budget I have.
So without further waiting, here are my options.
1. Tiffany Circlet Ring around .5 carats
2. Tiffany Lucida Ring around .5 carats
3. Tiffany Ribbon Ring around .5 carats
4. Tiffany Soleste Round Ring around .5 carats

My gf is in school to be a nurse so a shallow mount appeals to her and I.
And Go...

Very thoughtful of you to think of her career, though considering that most nurses are not allowed to wear engagement rings or rings that are not plain band due to infection risk, I would go with a Ribbon or Lucida. I say this because it's still low set, it won't be sometihng she is worried about snagging, plus if she IS allowed to wear it to work it's out of the way and there's no prongs to concern herself with (well, on the Ribbon). And I think it will be easier to keep clean.

If you go with a Ribbon, get the specs on the stone so we can make sure it's a well cut one before you settle on it!

vote for #4 Soleste! with the surrounding diamond, the center diamond will look bigger! 0.5ct will be great size! good luck proposing!

You are very sweet, and have great taste :)

Are you sure she can wear engagement ring a work? If so the Lucida might be more practical. Otherwise, I prefer the Soleste and the circlet. They are both beautiful rings that will give more finger coverage. So my vote is for the Soleste.

ditto. :D

My prefrence is for ribbon then lucida. I love how the ribbon looks and it's absolutely signature tiffanys. I've never seen anything like it from anywhere else and the execution is great. But if she likes the square shape, go with the lucida.

I'm a nurse and voted for the Lucida because it is the most practical for a nurse in my opinion. I put gloves on all day long and sometimes have to double glove which creates a lot of tension on the prongs. I also wash my hands constantly which dries them out and end up using a lot of lotion which builds up on rings and a solitaire would possibly be easier to clean. Neither I nor my coworkers tend to wear our engagement rings (mine is a bit taller than I'd prefer). They're all beautiful choices. Good luck and congratulations!

How thoughtful u r!! She will love them all. I do vote for Lucida cause flatter and more classic. She can always upgrade this stone or use it as a part of another set in the future. Good luck!! She is a very fortunate young woman.

I would go with a Lucida. The design is more of a timeless classic, and I think she could have a lot of fun choosing a wedding band or bands to wear with it...the options are almost endless, and she could interchange different bands with it easily due to the design of the Lucida. I also think that would be the safest choice for her being that she's a nurse.
