Yes it does look similar to the Essex.I love it! She sorta looks like my essex satchel. The leather is pebbly and perfect. Navy is not easy to find either, congrats!

Love it!!! I bet it's so soft! Here she is....she's perfect...brand spanking new!!! I love the smell of fine leather!!![]()
Lol lol, okay. I'm going to wear clothes I would never pair with my Miranda, but once I do, I will nominate you girls to this challenge. Gotta wear your non formal clothes with your "classiest" bag. Or vice a versa, lol😛😎

Omg! Soooo exciting! It's a gorgeous bag and color! I'm a midget as well and don't do crossbody unless I absolutely have to. Would your leather working friends be able to make an extra hole in your strap? You could get the hole punching tool in Michaels, etc, but would prefer if someone who works with leather would do it for me. Just a thought though.
+1
You should get one of those leather hole punchers and add some holes to that shoulder strap to make it shorter. I just ordered one on eBay for $6 to make my straps longer. I love that leather/chain shoulder strap that comes with your Tristan. You should use it.
Well, at least you have the option to change the strap to a shorter one. Is it possible to take it to a professional & have extra holes made in the strap so you can shorten it that way or would it be better to keep the strap unaltered & original? Glad you're enjoying the bag! I can't wait for mine to get here!!
Yes, it is better to keep your bags in their original condition. It devalues the bag when you modify it. I will just put the strap away and use my alternate silver chain strap that I already use and is interchange onto many of my bags. It is the perfect length for me.

Too funny! lol! One thing always leads to another. There is no end to this fun! lol!All of the crystal bag charms I have are gold. I'm going to have to find or make some in the silver! LOL
That's kinda what I figured. Altering anything designer will devalue it unless the alterations are made by the designer themselves. I wonder if you could get a strap made with leather to match the bag in the length you need? Might be more expense than it's worth, tho.
OMG!!! She is drop dead gorgeous!! I just LOVE it! The silver pops even better on the navy! Dang it CD!! Now I have to get the black one too! lol!! Don't you LOVE it??
While it does look similar to the Essex, there are quite a few differences. The Essex has the zippers on both sides, which is nice. I wonder if those are compartments of just decoration?? . This Tristan is much more and better detailed. Also the Tistan has the folded and pleated leather on the bottom sides, plus the gorgeous O Rings and buckled detailing on both sides ot the bag. ALSO, the Essex doe NOT have an outer pocket on the back like our Tristan has, although the zipper sides appear to be outer compartments, which is good. . And last, but not least, it does not have the protective metal feet on the bottom that are nicely engaved. If I had to pick between the two, we made the right choice. Much more detailed.Yes, the leather is soft. And now that you mention it, she does look similar to the Essex. I hadn't noticed before.
fyi - the zippers on the side of the Essex are pockets and they are VERY roomy! While it does look similar to the Essex, there are quite a few differences. No worries, CD! You can't hurt that bag. You picked a better color I think. My pink Tristan is going to be a real pain! I was freaking out when it kept falling on the floor of my Dodge, yesterday. I just know I am going to have it wasted in less than a month. At least with the Navy, it hides any small imperfections. This pink is going to show everything! I am wishing I got the black instead. lol! But the pink is making me feel very 'summery' so I will enjoy it while it lasts. I do know how to clean it, so I will be OK I suppose. I just don't like worrying about it. I have enough to worry about for heavens sakes, without adding something so petty to the list! I don't know how everyone else does it.I do know that I've got to stop carrying my Tristan long enough to treat the leather. I think I'm going to do it tonight after we get back from dinner! LOL
