Heavy influencer led brands

Agreed. I don’t know why luxury brands have to do this when they are already well known. Small/start-up might need to use social media to have more exposure, this is understandable but lots of them seem to go too far with this which is obnoxious nowadays
When a well known brand like Dior gifts so many so called influencers for free, this cheapens their brand a lot IMO. Brands like these used to be prestigious but when they just hand out their products for free, I wonder if they really worth anything. I feel I’m going to flip if I see one more saddle or book tote. The more I’ve seen them the more I dislike them

I think it is still cheaper to give away products than have contracts with set designers, models, photogs, etc to create ad campaigns.

Agree its likely cheaper, though heavily using 'influencers' may have oversaturated that market and cheapened some styles. A broader spread would have given more insights to the brand appeal of those styles. Such as some celebrity in different age groups, a couple of influencers, some really grateful tPfers !

Are we calling out influencers who are promoting brands they might not get paid, vouchers or credits, but perhaps, increase their views/likes on YT, etc? Is there a financial or popularity incentive to do so? Also note, influencers tend to mention the same items over and over again. For example, the Love bracelet.

Chanel (with the up & coming 7/1 price increase - surprised not seeing more YT vids!)
LV
Hermes (this is a biggie as of late due to some criticism about the whole "journey" to B/K blowout)
Cartier
Van Cleef & Arpels
Fashionphile (I think some influence are marketing for them on YT)
VCA
Prada
Dior

I appreciate most influencers for their hard work, but really don't trust for true wear/tear unless they have item for several months/years.

I was actually considering the Senreve Aria Belt Bag. There's a couple of youtubers who seem to have bought the bags during the handbag revival sale to use as a casual, carry-to-the-supermarket sort of bag. They all say bought but I don't know if they are buying, getting a discount or being given free.

After the comments people have on here, I might reconsider and go for other brands.

I got influenced and have a few senreve bags. I own 3: aria belt bag, alunna, and voya tote. I'm not an influencer and just wanted to share my opinion.

I love the aria a lot actually. I have the chain add on as well. It carries my essentials and a grab and go bag to go shopping. Understated and do like the option of carrying it as a clutch. I never wear it as a belt bag though. Good crossbody for me.

The alunna is growing on me. It is stiff and I don't bother closing the zip. It is a fun bag that is cute to carry. I haven't used it as a backpack yet and don't intend to. The shape is unique to me and that's different than typical bag designs.

Voya tote wasn't featured by any influencers. It was more me wanting a work tote as I never had one. I'm tired of seeing goyard, LV neverfulls, and a few other totes from Prada, mulberry. I wanted something different and like that it has some organization vs a big kitchen sink hole. It is so structured and won't sag BUT it can be so uncomfortable to wear because of that. Also it is SO HEAVY and I don't carry much with it except essentials like wallet, keys, a small makeup pouch and my 12" surface! I'm still using it because it was something I said I wanted and the husband got me for Christmas. So I feel bad to just abandon it.

The leather was pebbled leather for all 3. Must say it is definitely very hard wearing and I won't be in horror if I bump the bag into something.

These types of videos generate a lot of views and so it’s ultimately $$$.
We don’t need different videos on what they all think of another Price increase, however they will use the excuse that they were requested for it.

Just stumbled upon a recent video by “Isabelle’s Style” where she bought a new top handle Chanel bag.
She had to bring out a Senreve bucket bag that was gifted to her and claimed that she’s been using it for the past few days and I rolled my eyes.

With all those high end luxury bags that she gets super excited about, she can’t fool me with that claim.

It’s a gorgeous shade of burgundy andI like the design, but forhalf the price. I can find a cuter epi petit noe LV bag.

I guess I have a thing against Senreve and other influencer type brands since I feel like those youtubers are shoving those things down our throats and they don’t even believe their own hype about those brands.

Thank you! This is actually super helpful! Can i just check in with you on the Aria -do you use it as crossbody with the existing strap or do you need the chain strap for a cross body?

Also our pattern of consumption has changed. How many of us now buy fashion magazines and flip through them to figure out what is on trend. We all look at what the celebs & models are wearing on social media and to see if it suits as well.

First, brands were getting big name celebs to endorse but I'm sure thats expensive. So then they got well known models and supermodels. With the rise of social media, even some of the conventionally lesser known models became more famous, so brands hired them (as they'd definitely be cheaper than your supermodels). Then smaller brands picked people with smaller but more localised influencers to market in that area.... to a point where it grew so big that you have influencers at every level .... I don't think its fair to blame only the brands for going this route

Agree with every statement made here.

Thanks! I definitely use the existing strap as crossbody! Sometimes I even shorten the strap and sling it over my shoulder so the bag sits slightly slanted across my back or my chest depending on the look I want. I don't really wanna over pump here because I see a lot of negativity towards the brand but I really enjoy the aria and alunna and just wanted to share.

Love my pebbled Aria! The best part for me is that it‘s understated and doesn’t need to scream it’s brand or logo.

I just got an update notification about this thread so I thought I'd update on my Senreve bags I bought over a year ago. I got the Alunna and the Aria belt bag and I have to say that I do really like both of them. Overall the quality seems good and I've had a great experience with their customer service after finding a defect on my Alunna. I didn't use my Alunna until maybe 2 months after purchase when I noticed there was a cut in the leather that had been hidden by the handle (unlikely I did it by accident because of the placement). I wasn't sure if Senreve would do anything about it since so much time had passed but I emailed them anyway. They offered to replace the bag this one time for me, so I shipped back mine and they sent a new one. I noticed the new one had an updated closure - magnetic part now had a little tab to make it easier for the magnets to line up, but I actually felt like something about the leather seemed softer than my original and I dunno, the shape felt off - however I didn't think "something feels off" would be a valid complaint so I was just going to let it be. However after some examination I found ANOTHER scratch on the strap near the shoulder pad. It was small and I debated emailing again because now I felt like I was being fussy. I ended up asking if I could just exchange the strap since the bag was technically ok. They were very nice about it and replace the whole bag again. The new one was perfect, no odd softness and no scratches.

I've worn both the Alunna and the Aria several times since then and they both seem pretty hardwearing. I even took my Alunna to the beach since the leather seems easy to wipe down. I have the Alunna in Sand and the Aria in Chestnut - both in the pebbled leather. So far I have no problems with color transfer, but I don't really wear dark color jeans too often so it's probably still something to watch out for. I think both are great for a low key bag and would be good for travel because of the durability and lack of obvious logos. I was worried their closure design would be fussy but I found it's actually not that bad to get in and out of. To be honest, I want their Circa bag too but I just don't want to pay that much for it right now lol. I'm hoping it'll pop up during one of their sales.
