sally, u know, it really doesn't bother me on the lorcas as much as they did on the clutch wallets since i really don't use the lorcas unless it's a special occasion. with two kids, the lorca is way too small, and sad to say... i don't go on dates too often.

btw, i didn't start a new thread for the sample sale cuz honestly... the selection is small.

I did an oops on a bunch of smalls too. Hope i love them! And, hope that hotties get to score some real samples. The greenpoint store is almost an hour and half transit away from me. And i dont't have the opportunity to play hookey this week. :(

I was just killing time and reading old threads when I came across a LOT of posts regarding a change in factory for HH products and their (apparent) decline in quality of items. In particular, I read a post about someone purchasing a clutch wallet and it actually not being sewn together but just GLUED :shocked::shocked: Are these newer items (new clutch wallets, newer cuffs) available online now part of the crappy quality? Or have things improved since then? I apologize for not paying closer attention to the thread I was reading to verify dates, but I became more and more concerned as I read and started clicking on various threads and couldn't find my way back to the original thread. I've been on hiatus from buying from HH since about Fall 2009, and I just recently purchased a Celina and clutch wallets from HH's site. I haven't had the chance to inspect them but I will soon. Just wondering if the problems I was reading about have since been cleared or if these newer items (specifically the Navy, Red, Plum, Lead clutches and the various cuffs) are possibly defective. Thanks ladies!:winkiss:

Fleur, my Welles hobototes and Fantasia bags arrived in excellent shape, quality leather and construction and have worn wonderfully. I think its been spotty. They had a problem with one factory during the shine leathers and had to cancel that manufacturer and delay months to go to another. But, what I got of the Spring 2010 is more true to HH as we know them. So, I guess it depends on the item and batch.

Edit: Also for reference, my shine Trophies are from the first ones in and the last batch in and are fine. It was the shine batch towards the middle that had the "peelies".

I just compared my marmo chestnut (brand new) with my much older moss carryall. It has a flowery silk lining - I don't know exactly what year it is from. I can't tell the difference at all in terms of quality, types of zippers, stitching. Didn't see any glue at all. I second RMC's comment about the shine leathers - I think there was some stuff that wasn't as good. I have some shine lorcas and havanas and I don't think the quality of the stitching is as good as some of the past lorca's and havanas but it is quite a small difference. I just looked at my new lead wallet and compared with my black onyx one. Don't see diffs with stitching etc. Hey Ambri has the best clutch collection - ask her about the wallets.

I *think* most of that talk was re: the Jackson and Emile line of smalls that seemed to be of lesser quality in terms of leather and construction. They def. seemed cheapo to me. The few things I've gotten in the last year have been great--no complaints. My friend got the Clu Hobo and sent it back because she thought it felt cheap and was poorly constructed. She has a bunch of other HH bags so it's not that she generally feels that way about their bags.

I have to say that the jackson clutch I got is amazing. I love it. It has been carried almost daily (unless I'm travelling) for about a year and just gets better and better. I got the emile passcase - the very small one that carries just a few cards and it is great too. I know the grey and plum ones did not seem as durable as the black for sure.

I actually love the Clu hobo! The leather felt soft and silky. The only thing I can see people thinking is plasticky is the vinyl. All the tron stuff has some of that, so if you might not like that, don't get any tron. People also think the Fantasia stuff has that same plasticky feel. I like all my Fantasia stuff too so I guess everyone is different.

Oops I forgot. The lining is the thing that I find can make it feel cheap. It is cool cuz it is silver, but the feel of it is plastic. Maybe because it is thick and stiff people are feeling the bag is cheap. Sorry, I totally forgot.
