Right when the stores opened was good time for me and weekdays were better. Although the mall at Ala Mona was bigger, I had better luck at the center right at the hotels, especially for LV. If there is items at the other store they can check and hold for you to make it convenient. I only know LV is about 10% cheaper on ticketed price and 4% for sales tax. Gucci was a bit more than 10% off ticketed price. Hth!
Thanks. This is super helpful. I'll try to go early on the weekdays. Which other center are you referring to? The Hawaiian something?

Definitely get some goodies! I want to say its at least a 10% savings off the ticket item due to import taxes but also only 4 % for sales tax! Our local sales tax is about 10% too so my husband always lets me get away with more damage than usual.

Congratulations on your upcoming bundle of joy! Hope you get some nice mementos from Maui.:flowers:

What a fantastic tradition to have!

thank you so much. That’s really nice of you both! I had no idea the savings were so good. It almost makes me want to go to Oahu and do even more damage!

What a coincidence! I'm from Cali too! Small world. I definitely want something from LV. I'm thinking of taking home with me the Capuccines BB in scarlet (if I can find it).
Yeah, the world is small that’s why we meet at the purse forum and somehow will go to Hawaii at same time :). As I remember the LVstore in Waikiki is big and services are better than in my hometown. The SA doesn’t judge you by your outfits :).
Have a great trip and hope you can get your Capuccines BB there.

This is one of my favorite things about vacation travel in Hawaii. Beach-to-shopping-to-lunch is totally normal* and nobody blinks at casual attire. It's very relaxing. And if you happen to be driving by or walking by and spot a luxury store, there's no need to feel formal.

*I mean, I would change out of swim gear, but shorts or sundresses are totally fine in my experience!
