I’m planning to go to Honolulu in the Thanksgiving week too. I had been there once couple years ago and did a luxury shopping as well. I can assure you that the price and sales tax there are much cheaper than where I live (California). FYI, I bought few things in Chanel and LV stores last time.

The shopping is limited compared to Oahu, but there's definitely an LV at the Shops at Wailea, and at Whalers Village, Ka'anapali Beach. If you're at Whalers, stop by MonkeyPod for a MaiTai with lilikoi foam!
Yes! I just actually flew back from Maui this evening! I had AMAZING service from Mackenzie Velasco at LV in Whalers Village in Lahaina. We he was able to get almost all the items and he does amazing follow up!
I briefly stopped by the other mall in Wailea but wasn't given great service so I left without anymore bags at their LV. Wailea has more stores as well.

but will definitely get some shopping in! Our local sales tax is over 10%, so less than half that is a great benefit!

When I was 7 months along with my son (now almost 4 years old!), we went to Florence, Italy and I purchased my first LV bag. So this has to become a tradition!Congratulations, that is so exciting! Definitely get some goodies! I want to say its at least a 10% savings off the ticket item due to import taxes but also only 4 % for sales tax! Our local sales tax is about 10% too so my husband always lets me get away with more damage than usual.
Right when the stores opened was good time for me and weekdays were better. Although the mall at Ala Mona was bigger, I had better luck at the center right at the hotels, especially for LV. If there is items at the other store they can check and hold for you to make it convenient. I only know LV is about 10% cheaper on ticketed price and 4% for sales tax. Gucci was a bit more than 10% off ticketed price. Hth!
