Hi all,
I haven't posted here for some time, but I am heading to Hawaii for Thanksgiving week and need your help. This will be my 4th time there, but 1st time luxury shopping. I've heard so many great things about shopping there and I am so excited! I'd love your recommendations on where to shop, what brands you recommend I check out while in Waikiki. Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated. TIA. :biggrin:

Around Wakiki there are many luxury stores in a very pretty setting. I also went to a huge mall (forget the name) but it was really really crowded, the parking lot jammed; it had every luxury store.

Did you get anything? Are there certain days or times you recommend going which won't be so crowded?

I just did window shopping. I was there in early December to stay with my son after he had surgery, so there wasn't too much time to shop. It may have been pre-holiday crowds at the mall? IDK

I love Luxe shopping in Waikiki! You can find almost all high end designers on Luxury Row (stand alone stores). In addition there are two malls that have the best luxe shopping. In my opinion the best mall is Ala Moana Center in Honolulu. Great shopping and good eats. The mall located in Waikiki is called Royal Hawaiian Center. I find this mall a lot more crowded because it’s in walking distance from the tourist hotels. You will also find shopping for luxe items on the island a bit cheaper than on the mainland. In addition the state tax is approx 4%. Have fun shopping!

So much fun! In addition to luxury shops, I always enjoy a good browse in the ABC Stores and individual family-run stores. Great food, great vacation vibe. Have a wonderful time.

Thanks for the great recommendations. I definitely want to check out Ala Moana. Which brands are cheaper and how much cheaper (if you happen to know)?

I’m not sure if retail prices are cheaper but the low sales tax makes buying cheaper. What also makes shopping fun is that several brands/designers offer speciality items not available on the mainland.
