Have you/would you ever rent a designer bag?

I wanted to ask if anyone on here has rented a bag or considered renting one and what your experiences have been!
I'd considered it if I wanted to "test drive" something before buying it, but it was always so expensive.
I think also some people rent bags or clothing if they have an event and don't want to commit to buying the item. They may live a minimalist lifestyle. I also have considered it in the past. I remember about 15 years ago my grocery store had a vending style maching with luxury handbags that you could rent. I remember seeing a Chanel available for rent. They ended up getting rid of it though.
No, I would rather save up and get my wanted bag. The fees for renting a bag a not so cheap either. If one needs real life information Purseforum is such a great place if I want to do research about the desired bag beforehand. If luxury bags are too expensive I would rather get a nice no name bag. There are tons of nice cheaper good quality options.
True, it can become quite costly, especially if you want to rent the bag for a holiday/long period of time.
What about co-owning a bag, like a time share? Would any of you ladies be open to that?
