posk..take a picture with your cell phone so you can post it for us!! LOL!

I had this style of Lucky Brand in both green and black until I recently sold them to my sister's co-worker. They retailed for about $148 and were worth every penny, but I wouldn't want to pay $300 plus for a Ruehl bag if the quality is the same.

I've eyed them since RUELH.com was made. (I'm a huge Abercrombie gal) and they're linked to A&F and HCO so yep, I've definetly heard of them and is currently saving up for one. I chose RM and MIU MIU over it so I got to wait now.. since I'm on a ban :(

i saw the ruehl store in paramus mall NJ, and OMG. it's gorgeous!! i shopped the site, and i'd actually buy those bags. lols. the store in paramus mall looks so cool...it looks like a house. i took a picture of it. lols.

FWIW, I stopped by a Ruehl today to look at the handbags. Sadly, I was disappointed for the price point. I agree that the quality isn't much higher than Lucky or a dept store line. The leather is very thick and durable. Soft but not smooshy soft -- it seems like it'll take a beating and last a long time, but it's meant to be worn in. What disappointed me was the finishing on edges: that's what made it Lucky quality.

JMO. :shrugs:

I've seen some of them in person when I was on vacation in Hawaii last January...the Ala moana Ruehl store, as dead as it was (the store is still amazing though, it was like a soHo/greenwich inspired apartment!) had EXCELLENT deals on these bags, considering they are leather! Some were under 200!

I have to tell you my story of Ruehl....not good. If you have a store close by, I would definitely use that venue. Whatever you do, don't call Customer service.

I saw this site and went crazy. What gorgeous bags!! I had to have one. So to be sure everything was good, I decided to phone them my order.
I got some Lady...who I am very sure was a New employee. I asked her if the bags were thick and gorgeous as they looked. She said she didn't know. They didn't have any there. So she asked me for an item number. I told her there was none that I saw but I gave her the bag name. She said she couldn't find it. I said it's the 3rd bag on the site. Still couldn't find it. Then she said she would look in a another computer. Oh, there it was. Okay...she ordered it for me. I asked her what method of shipping they used. She asked me what I wanted. I asked her to check so she put me on hold and said I'd be getting my bag on such n such a date. I asked again what shipping method. She didn't know.

After all this I felt a little uneasy. She was a strange Cookie. She said I'd get an email confirmation soon. 3 Days passed and I never got anything. So I called again. Ordder? What order? No mention of you anywhere. She was a little nonchalant and said they had alot of new employees. Did I want to order again? Oh nevermind...bag is gone from the site now and all sold out. So she told me to call my nearest store and have one shipped to me. So I called Columbus. They said they never ship bags from stores.
So needless to say after all this, I forgot about Ruehl. And won't think about them again until the next time I get to Columbus (2 hours away).

I used to work for Hollister (which is an Abercrombie & Fitch company, and so is Ruehl).
Basically, quality went in the order (lowest to highest)
Hollister
A&F
Ruehl...
So I don't doubt that these bags are pretty high quality, though I'm not sure where they are made. A lot of the clothing made for hollister was pretty poor in quality, though the prices were pretty steep. So who knows?
Personally, I would spend the money on a clearance LP or HH since I don't know if the prices for these bags ever go down ;)
But our old District Manager always had a Ruehl bag with her and she seemed to love them.

I have a customer service story as well. I am absolutely in love with the regular size Lane. When I first spotted it, it was available only in Chocolate but still nice. So I'd check on it every so often whilst making up my mind and one day the lighter brown showed up - I notice most of their bags come in these two colors. Woohoo! I was on vacation on at the time so I didn't order - came home and the light brown was gone again. So I called customer service asking if it's something that's sold out or would they be getting more in. The rep got so confused, just getting her to the right bag was a chore, then trying to explain about the colors. She says that they've never had it in the lighter brown color - I told her that yes they did, I have a screen shot of it at home. I took screen shots of both colors so I could look at them a little more before making up my mind. She sounded like she didn't believe me and was no help at all as to whether that shade will make an appearance again.

I'm going to keep my eye out on the sight though. Thick and durable leather sounds good to me, especially on this type of bag. It looks like a nice everyday bag with a casual urban feel to it with the hardware and side zippers that appeals to my senses. :smile1:

I love love love this bag!

This is the one I like as well. I actually went into this store on a previous shopping trip...the set up is kind of unique the outside has bricks and even a black caged fence if I remember correctly. I was actually going to buy this bag and should have but instead I bought a fossil bag that I am now regretting. :shame:
