Wow, I've always thought I would get a Chopard Happy piece, but I think this has convinced me that it is not worth the cost. Why can't the piece be completely enclosed?

Totally agreeI've always loved the pieces as well, but for the amount of $ they cost almost all repairs should be complimentary...especially when it seems to be an issue with the piece itself!
I wasn't told either- I just read it in the booklet that comes with the ring and then heard about it from someone else who had problems with theirs. It's ridiculous that they sell rings that you shouldn't get wet!! I'm glad you got it negotiated down to $300.00.
UPDATE:
I went to pick it up today and the SA told me they gave me a new one. I believe its new because they're issuing me a new certificate which will be mailed, same as when I bought it. It looks fabulous!
I did pay the $300 but I didnt argue it since I got a new ring.
I agree! I am shocked this is a recurring problem! For as much as that stuff costs, you should be able to live underwater for 100 years and have no issues.
