Harry and Meghan Appreciation Thread

I imagine there will be faux outrage about this especially depending how much they go into detail about it.

Royal reporters have actually acknowledged this fact in social media posts and interviews over the years and a lot of people just gloss over it. Even before Harry was with Meghan they said they would be instructed by the palace to report negative stories about Harry to protect other royals but more recently the royal reporters have really been acknowledging that they've been told they can say negative things about Harry and Meghan as long as they don't acknowledge things about the other royal family members.

A few examples:

I really wish there was 1 MM thread. I can't even find the other one and it's such a pain to go to one place vs the other depending on how "positive" the opinion is. Isn't it normal to have a mix of positive and negative opinions on any person?

Anyway I just finished watching the series. I don't think they should've done this and wish we could all just jump ahead to the period when everyone has healed and gotten past all the toxicity of "Megxit." That was clearly a hard time for everyone in that family. All that said the show didn't really change my opinion of her as a person... I found her relatable, likeable, generally normal and someone I'd probably be friends with. She looked beautiful of course and it was interesting to see her other friends. I do think the media oversaturation makes them more unlikeable to the public than they deserve to be, like Jennifer Lawrence of a few years ago, and they could benefit from taking a hiatus but it really feels like we're just approaching the peak given this show and the book coming out.

I hope the threads are not combined. I agree that you have different opinions about the same person (even the ones we love and KNOW); however, in my opinion sometimes some of these comments become so vicious that are too much. That is why I no longer read the other thread. I think the idea here was to have an appreciation thread. So far, I have not seen anyone stating anything (positive or negative) that seems vicious. Not trying to upset or offend anyone but I was a regular reader of the old thread until it no longer made sense to me. Even the Body Language Guy has an opinion on Megan's tan. LOL

Me too, I have to bounce back and forth depending on what I’m discussing.

Yes exactly what Harry was referring to as the Royal Rota. They need to cannibalize the 'spares' in order keep the heat off the heir to the throne. I am just shocked so many UK press people are actually admitting it. In this way Harry is actually doing a heroic gesture for his little niece and nephew (Charlotte and Louis) because if this is allowed to continue it will surely be their fate seeing how Charles never did a damn thing to protect Harry. And why does William need to be so protected? WTH is he doing? All I know is about his (alleged) affair with Rose Hanbury that was here today, gone tomorrow with a quickness in the press. And his association with Jason who first put out those lies about Meghan in the media while she was pregnant with Archie.

I like to hear both sides so I also come here to get an idea of what others are thinking, even though I was called a troll when I first did.

Wasn't Harry protected though, when there was someone else to criticize or blame? And as that woman in the video said, Will also came under fire at one point, as did Kate.

I guess one must just keep their head down and carry on, as Prince Philip would say.

I used to be (am?) no great fan of H&M but many of the things said in other thread (and other similar threads around the Internet) made me uncomfortable. I also think, like everything else, there’s nuance in their situation and nothing is 100% good or bad all the time.

All that said, though I found it a bit boring I enjoyed their documentary overall and anxiously await the second part tomorrow. I have my cup of tea steeping and ready.
