It's really cute! I didn't know the inside was a microscope! I thought it was just fabric. I guess I should have read the description. Do you like the spade lock?
Haha, I think your phone autocorrected "microsuede"... I was looking at MICROSCOPE and I went "did I say there was a microscope inside?!"
I'm surprised too, at this price point, I would've only expected a textile. I didn't read the description either and only looked when I was writing my post. The suede feels exactly like my Madison mini Debra (the flowery boxy KS bag in my original post) which I know for sure is microsuede, because the inner tag says it too. This Rumi bag doesn't have a materials tag inside...

I don't dislike the spade lock, but it is a bit chunkier than I'd like. I would've preferred maybe the spade only vs. the spade on a rectangular background?

Hahaha.Oops. It would be nice to carry around a microscope too I guess!
Would you say that this design is easier to use than the Cannes with the zipper?

I received my Kate Spade Rumi trunk from their Surprise Sale today. It's pretty cute in person. Does it replace the LV yellow epi Cannes? No, but I think this bag would be easier to use because of the closure. You push down the pointy tip of the spade to open, and you can use the bottom of the square clasp as leverage to easily close the bag. There are 3 feet on the bottom. It's only missing that royal purple lining that the yellow LV has. And maybe the clasp is a biiiit big for my liking (would've preferred a smaller, minimalistic clasp) but those are minor grievances.

The dimensions listed on the site are way off. On the site they're listed as 7.8''h x 10.24''w x 5.12''d and that would imply a bucket that is wider than it is tall - this is not the case. it's about 6" tall (without handle), 8" with handle, and the width is 6" while the depth is 5" (due to the flat back part).

The strap is a bit long for my liking - perfect for crossbody, but a bag like this I'd prefer to wear on the shoulder vs. crossbody. It's pretty cute handheld though. The leather is nice quality and I believe is the same as the Andi bag - treated to prevent scratches. The yellow is a lovely cool toned yellow with a hint of green. With a name like "Limelight" I was worried it would be more green than yellow, but it's definitely yellow. It's bright but definitely not neon, which I'm happy about. The inside lining feels like the suede lining of my Madison Debra and according to the site it is in fact microsuede...so.... I'm pleasantly suprised.

For $119 US, a pretty good buy. If you took away the KS logo and slapped a $500 price tag on it, I'd probably still buy it. I wish KS would release MORE trunk-like bags like this.
It's adorable! If this had come in other colors I would have been tempted. Although it might be a little too small for me.

I just recently came across a new brand with a bag that fits this category I thinking.
