I'm not saying they are equivalent (I grew up with a dog who I adored....) but you can buy insurance for a dog and they can cost a lot less than a handbag!

For some people a dog is an equivalent accessory to a hanbag (Paris Hilton, Britney Spears).

My little shih tzu has cost me a nice purse now and again (she had a cancer scare a couple years ago, but fortunately after $1300 worth of surgery she turned out okay). But she's worth it! I probably should have looked into pet insurance when we first got her.

Having dogs is ridiculously expensive. In the past year, mine have cost me no less than $5000 in veterinary bills, kennels, food, etc. The vet bills are the worst though. And because my dogs are rescues (and older), I cannot get the insurance. Not that the pet insurance covers much anyway. But my babies are worth it, even if I have to go into debt for them.

I actually have that purse hook (got it as a free gift for spending too much at Neiman Marcus a while back). It is a really nice one too. I just felt silly using it before, although maybe from now on I should.

Btw, Issmom, how was Per Se? Did it live up to the hype? I have always wanted to go there. I took my boyfriend to Daniel last year and have to say it was worth the exorbitant price. THe best food and service I have ever had.

Why didn't he pick u up and carry you over the grass? That would've been the gentlemen thing to do. I would've demanded it. (I've done it before in the past). And guys usually accomodate because it boosts their strong man ego. And you come out clean on the other end of the bargain. We must protect the white suits @ all costs!!!!
