Im glad the experiment is working for you. My mintgreen Louenhide is staying but the Guess is not. It wasnt big enough for my work week and I know I wont use it for anything else.

I like just about all of my bags, but I need to be wowwed by them to justify the case to keep them. I plan on keeping a limited number of smaller interesting bags as a little collection. For the rest I keep, I would like them to be functional. You may have read me post this before, over the last few years I have just indulged myself in buying all sorts of, mostly inexpensive, mostly vintage Coach. For fun, to rehab them etc. Now it’s time to look at what I have with a critical eye.I'm finding the longer I use a bag the more I want to use it. I used the last bag for a week, switched into a different bag yesterday, and today I'm back in the one I was using last week. Now I'm having a hard time switching out of it when before I was having a hard time staying with it. I really need it to be extremely functional and I need to love how it looks. It does help to weed out what just works and what doesn't. And if it doesn't work it needs to go.
At first, I thought, a week?? But you hit the nail on the head. That, or at least 4 or 5 days, just feels like the right amount of time to experience how the bags fits in, or not, to my routine.Im glad the experiment is working for you. That's what I did, not with Coach but lots of mid range bags. Now I've found what works for me, and only want to keep the bags I truly use and love. It felt so good to get rid of the bags that were just literally hanging aroundYou may have read me post this before, over the last few years I have just indulged myself in buying all sorts of, mostly inexpensive, mostly vintage Coach. So I have decided the brown Lunch Tote is on its way out. It had been in the back of my mind to let it go since I have not used it in ages and the experience of using for a week has now prompted me to create a Bye Bye pile. Lol Even though it is cute looking and I “could make it work” I realize I have other bags I would rather reach for.View attachment 4602206
Happy Thanksgiving to all! I moved into the Garcia yesterday. Redwood66, you hit the nail on the head about a longer strap. I have Macgyver-ed my Carriage fob, conveniently in Antique Brass as a strap extender until further notice!
The Guess is staying as it worked for me..Fit everything I usually take to work and was easy to carry.Well have chosen to use my other Guess bag this week. We shall see how long I last.View attachment 4599349
Do you have a picture of the Coach? I may have missed it..So I have decided the brown Lunch Tote is on its way out. On Wednesday I moved into this new to me Coach Garcia Flap Shoulder Bag in amethyst. Roomy enough. The strap is a tad short. However, while cleaning it I could see the carry strap was detachable. So I am using a fob as a temporary strap extender! I am used to/ spoiled by the thicker vintage leather! This bag from ‘08 is very well made, however it is made with very thin leather! Well, thinner than I am used to. It also has a sheen to it, which is interesting and forgiving of some distressing on the flap. But on the whole, for $35 was a bargain for a well saturated purple![]()
Is an attachment showing up in my post that I quoted? I took the lazy way out and quoted another post where I took a pic.Do you have a picture of the Coach? I may have missed it..

Coach Legacy Garcia Flap ‘08 in amethyst : )
The leather looks great and I love the color!A little late for Handbag of the Week...and I'm using my Mulberry Mitzy.
Preloved and got for the princely sum of NZ$100.
She's a keeper for me.
Been looking for another on trademe...but the ones I have seen have all had numbers that are on the fake serial numbers list. And I'm not buying a fake.View attachment 4605350
