I used to only use shoulder bags but after using a satchel I actually find it to be more functional. It is easier to put my satchel on the counter than a shoulder bag when I am paying for something. Also I can wear the satchel on my shoulder if I need to. I need to buy more satchels now.

I like a nice medium sized bag. In general I prefer shoulder carry or crossbody because I'm a pretty casual dresser. I do however also like to keep one or two fun colored satchels/hand carry/ crook of arm carry bags that I pull out to wear in Spring and Summer with my pretty dresses.
Even though I don't carry much I've never really been a clutch bag gal....they just feel too formal for me.
