From what I understand, a wishlist just means that the SA knows you want this piece and puts you on their personal list for when it comes in, but if other people have also requested it, you have to wait until your name is called. I don’t think it’s a formal thing (unless it’s a limited edition or HP). Plus the order-ability of pieces change monthly my SA said. So for example, I wanted a BA 5 motif bracelet, but it was not order able in September 2024 so I was put on a waitlist and my SA said no one was on the list ahead of me. They only got two but I didn’t like the colors so I waited. Then the order list opened up and I could pay for it in full to order one in (one month wait).I was able to be put on the “wishlist” but not a preorder. What’s the difference?
My takeaway is that if you REALLY want a piece, re-check on its ability to be ordered monthly. It seems like VCA focuses on issuing a lot of one stone type at a time (for Alhambra). Right now BA seems easier to get than ever. So you kind of have to jump when the iron is hot. All that said, some pieces are what my SA calls “unicorns”, like the MOP 2 motif earrings or and Magic earrings at all really…almost like don’t ask. I do believe that the better your relationship with your SA, the more likely they will remember you want something. This is not necessarily tied to spend amount but how kind you are, how well you get along, etc. because if someone is a b!tch, then the SA might “forget” their name is on a popular wishlist when a piece comes in.
