Thanks everyone for your input! I tried calling the store twice to speak to the director but was unable to get ahold of her and finally spoke to the SA on the phone directly but I feel like I was gaslit. This would've been my third VCA purchase but first time "preordering" so I wasn't familiar with the system. From our previous exchange he never mentioned that I was on the wishlist instead of a preorder and he also mentioned that I would be grandfathered into the price at time of payment which does NOT apply to wishlist items.

I feel like I've been lied to and now he wants to spin it around as I have misunderstood him. But the wishlist thing was never once mentioned...we came to a conclusion that he was going to refund me and keep me on the wishlist (at this point i don't even know if that's true). He said they could no longer accept deposit for wishlist items anyway so he can just refund me and keep my spot.

Honestly...at this point I've lost my trust in this boutique.

I’m so sorry to hear this😢 I completely understand why you lost trust with the store and the SA, even they provided the full refund. What are they going to do to make up for the mistake?

Any chance you’re in the DC area? If so, I was offered your pendant last Saturday when I went in to purchase a YG MOP Alhambra pendant! My SA told me it was a customer order than was declined. I have the hammered in RG already, or I would have pounced. My SA didn’t expect it to last the afternoon.

So I got a bit more clarity on my piece when I went to visit my SA this past weekend. In Dubai, hammered gold is only by wishlist, and apparently there were four people on the wishlist specifically for the 10-motif YG. By sheer coincidence, all four customers were out of the country at the time, and would not have been able to view or pick it up in time (24 hours at most).

So it went into display from opening time that day, so it was only in there for 2.5 hours before I saw it! I'm thanking my lucky stars even more so now!

How the stars align sometimes. It was meant to be definitely. I am just surprised they only have 4 people on wishlist for such an important piece 😙
