Hall of Shame: Post the Ebay H Fakes Here!

Oh my no. Not at all boring. We appreciate your work here, but also any extra tips and guidelines you can provide us (yet without aiding and abetting the fakers!).

I think most auctions are done by basically honest sellers - they're not trying to pull the wool over your eyes, but good pictures and attention to detail are difficult to produce not the result of dishonesty (there are always exceptions)

I still dont take very good pictures of my own ... it is hard

So, it is more straightforward to make disparaging remarks about an obviously fake site than about an average seller

OMG, Hermes_obsessed!! That's bad!!

I have a great one for you as well. It's croc equivalent on Etsy!

And, YES, counterfeit Kellys seem to be all the rage!! I've seen people bid over $2k, on fake Kellys that start very low from a bunch of sellers with ZERO feedback! I'm sure they are all the same person, because the fakes looked the same and you report 1 account and he has 10 more to keep selling. Another seller had defrauded 18 people in a row and was still allowed to sell, in fact had just sold a Kelly for $2k+ (fake, of course).

It gets to a point that I get tired of reporting things and watch eBay do absolutely NOTHING about it. It's frustrating. Hermes bags and Valentino Rockstud shoes are my 2 favorites.

Too funny, I saw this today and reported it. The seller seems really clueless as it's a fake Birkin, not a Kelly ,and never met the 1960s. There's a "valuation" certificate too from a really dubious site. What will they not do to deceive people?

Exactly. It was hilarious she mentioned it was from the 60's, as Dumas didn't create the Birkin for Jane Birkin until the early 80's.

Sorry to hear that, Hermes_obsessed. I don't remember being ripped off there, but I can't stand the thought of someone else paying $xxxxx for a $300 fake. I did get ripped off somewhere else though where I paid and never received anything.

If you search for Hermes Kelly -vinyl (minus vinyl, so it doesn't include the endless pages of plastic ones) on eBay and sort from low to high price, you will see numerous ZERO feedback sellers with random user id's (couple of letters and numbers, I think), selling fake Retourne black Kelly's very cheaply. These 2 are BIY or BO $1000 and $500 auction, but I've seen the same kind of user start the auction very low, like the Japanese sellers do as well.
