Macys SA's have to pull what a customer has paid for from a different location and pack said item if not available at Macy. com. I have paid for 5 or 6 items and had them shipped from other dept store locations. Every single thing I have received from an actual store and not the warehouse was packed horribly or had some sort of defect from the way it was mailed out by an SA. Macys SA's can tell you where and how many any store has if not available in the warehouse. The SA is the one person in charge of pulling and shipping according to my SA at my local Macy's.

I worked at Macy's here in Nashville. We had a separate team, called a pickoff team, who went throughout the store gathering items customers had ordered. It has to be handled by a different team because we were too busy with other things on the floor. I worked in a commission area (men's suits) and when they announced they were going to start fulfilling from stores, I wondered how I would get that done and sell suits. But, there was a separate team who took care of it.

I recently ordered my new Edie Colorblock bag from Macys.com. I think it was shipped from a store because I got a store receipt instead of a shipping invoice. It came nicely packed in an appropriate sized box. Also, I ordered it on Sunday and got it on Wednesday. Nice fast shipping. Based on all the horror stories on tPF, I must have gotten the only Macy's SA who knows and cares how to pack a handbag!

Hey, you know your stuff! I don't think most people paid attention to the difference between a receipt and an invoice.

You were lucky LOL! My experiences have been awful every single time. I will never order from them again. If I can't walk into the store and purchase I will do without it. MK.com has always sent me beautifully wrapped items whether big or small. You can always count on them to package your items with care.

The funny thing is that I saw the Edie Colorblock at my local Macy's and didn't like it. The leather looked sort of cheap. The one I got shipped from online was much much better. Go figure!

I did a charge send on a Coach Molly from Macy's in Vegas, and it was actually okay. I ordered an MK Susannah from Macy's and it came perfectly wrapped, so I knew it came directly from a fulfillment center. So far, I haven't had a problem with bags I've ordered. I would be so upset if I ordered one and it arrived like that, like they thought someone would find that acceptable.

Yeah, I don't know why someone would send a package like that. Can you imagine if you bought something in store and they handed you that?!? I'd be sooo mad. :cursing:
