Gucci Soho Disco or GG Marmont small matelassé?

I own the disco in red it’s gorgeous and great size although I do not fill it enough lol. I have one con the zipper is difficult u really have to yank on it and I tend to pinch the top of the bag and tug on it it’s really annoying today I went in to buy the small Bag u are interested in and they realized it’s the same bag lol as the disco and I want something small for quick errand and run Rounds .
In the Disco I had today in it two lv key clay eye sunglasses in a case Nd my mini Pochette and readers on top. There was still room in it
Then I tried on the mini which I said I would never get cause I’m a big girl but ya know what it’s so cute and it holds enough my iPhone 7 key clay readers and u could squish in the mini Pochette but the purpose of the bag is to be minimal so I just want it for my key pouch which hold cash n cards and my key attached my phone and my readers

I have this dilemma right now actually. It seems the marmont is more of a formal/going out kind of bag. The disco seems like an every day bag. Depending on your lifestyle if you like to go out or use it for casual wear.

Thanks everyone for their input! I think I might be getting the Disco in black. I like the fact that its casual and I can wear it everyday. I definitely still love the Marmont, but I have fell in love with it in the Nude color, so that might be an option in the future. Will post pictures when I make the final decision and purchase

To me, the Soho Disco is a lot more casual, it's a day bag, while the Marmont is classy and elegant, you could wear it to a formal occasion in the evening, should you need to; but it wouldn't seem over the top during the day either. Also, the Marmont sort of has two front sides - if you want the big GGs, wear it the usual way. To tone it down, you can turn it around and it would still look nice.

They're pretty similar in size, although Soho Disco is a bit taller, so if you have some item that's of a certain size - a bottle of your favorite hand lotion or something like that, I'd recommend measuring everything thoroughly, just in case you decide on the Marmont and then that item wouldn't fit.

Personally, I'd pick the Marmont. It's just prettier and more versatile. But to each their own, of course!

I love that the Marmont can be worn casual or formal! I think the only thing that stops me from getting the Marmont is because of the chained straps. Like I mention, I usually don't carry much. I have a Chanel card case as my wallet, and the LV key pouch to hold my other cards. I usually carry a bottle of water with me every where I go, and I think they both can fit a regular bottled water. Occasionally I'll bring sunglasses and a small bath&body hand sanitizer.

have you looked at comparison videos on you tube?

they are similiar but different....it is more of a square and hold just a little bit more.

i have the soho disco in the camilla.... and it was a debate on which to get. i choose the soho disco because:

1- it holds more and for me, some smaller bags are just that, too small. the soho is just that tiny little bit bigger so that it doesn't seem so stuffed that i have to take everything out to find something.

2- i have other chain bags.... not my favorite. chains are noisy when picking up, putting down (think sneaking into church. haha) And they can look more dressy.... i wanted an everyday bag

if i could only get one.... i would think about how you intend to use. do you want a day to night? go marmont.... if you want a everyday bag go with soho disco.

I want an everyday bag. For work I usually carry a tote to bring all my essentials. But when I go out I don't carry much! The disco is definitely a better everyday bag IMO

I prefer the marmont over the disco. Mainly because I do not like the big GG on the disco and the tassles. I have the marmont small in nude and absolutely love it. The chain strap does not tangle up on me at all.

Thanks for your review! I love the Marmont in the nude color, very much more than the black. Perhaps I could decide on the black disco, and get the nude Marmont in the future?

This is really difficult. I was in Beverly Hills and decided to visit the gucci store to try on the marmont camera back. It was very very cute. My only problem is that I cannot adjust thw strap and since I am 5’2 it sits low on my hips, I tested to see what I could fit inside and I could only place my keys, my LV card holder and couldn’t even fit my sunglasses’ case. Also I am not totally sold on the leather quality. For $980 I would expect much more room and a strap that could be at least adjustable. I have two discos (Black and beige) and it was a purchase that I don’t regret. I recently purchased a YSL toy loulou and I think it is better than the marmont. My personal opinion

I'm also on the fence! With the coming price increases for the Marmont bags, I'm torn. I thought I was certain after watching a video I'd get the soho, but now I'm not sure.

If you're able to, go try it on in person. I was debating between the two, and thought I would go with the marmont camera bag, but I ended up getting the soho disco because I thought it looked better on me. And it suits my lifestyle better because I am more casual on a daily basis

I have both the Soho Disco in black and Marmont mini (not the small) camera bag. I love them both, but I do think that the Marmont holds its shape better and has a little more style. I have the nude color, and goes with everything. I have had my Soho Disco for about 2.5 years, and I feel like it is starting to show it's age. I usually wear about once per week. I already own a disco in Turquoise nubuck that I love but I want a Gucci in a more practical every day colour. I also want one that I can transition from day to night. I'm not sure if the Soho is best to bring on a night out as I feel its too casual but I'd love to get someone elses opinion!
The next dilemma is the colour, I like the black but the nude is so beautiful I'd rather purchase that. So my question is have any of you who own both bags in nude had any problems with colour transfer? and does the bag get dirty?

No bother at all! It seems like a lot of people have the same problem deciding on these two bags. Everyones input is always welcome. If you already own the disco, I would definitely go for the Marmont. It's a gorgeous bag that's why I'm having so much problem deciding which bag to get! But I think my decision will be black disco and nude marmont.

No offense to the soho & funnily enough my mom is in the same dilemma as you. Both these bags are what she’s deciding on. I...hands down think you should go for the marmont. Black cuz its for every use & errands. If u want the same style as the soho, ysl offers a better looking version (in my opinion). But there I’ve said it. Marmont. Black. Get it! don’t kill me soho lovers.

It came just in a dust bag and also there’s a little wear by the stitching that looks like the leather peeled off. Or is it just me? Is anyone else’s disco like that? Or am I just being picky?

I would definitely return it. Mine didn’t come like that. It should be smooth. At that price point their quality check should be flawless. That is my opinion

Just got back from the mall with a brand new disco!! I tried on the Marmont too but I felt like the disco matched my style more. And I got a box for it too! Already sent back the other one.
