@papertiger I couldn’t agree with you more. I enjoyed the movie for comic relief. But definetly did not enhance my knowledge about Gucci and the Gucci family.

For someone that is literally a Gucci ambassador, Leto obviously has no respect for Gucci and its heritage. I guess that's what happens if you get everything for free and the CD is in love with you. I know Paolo was not an easy man but he had no sympathy for him. He couldn't have done any research and he didn't care to.
Jeremy Irons was even worse IMO, a walking cliche that dropped his entire 'disguise' every other sentence. Perhaps he only read the script the evening before, the performance was so bad it made me embarrassed on his behalf.

I liked it as a brief history of the Gucci dynasty. It was a big-budget movie and I'm really into those. Hollywood wants to do its own take on established stories so I can understand why some Gucci gurus didn't like portraying certain characters or even their stories. It's a tragic story as Tom Ford says, much like Chanel's. The Chanel movie was not big-budget so I didn't really enjoy it but liked the story. Will they make a Versace movie, I know they've done documentaries but I want a big-budget film about Versace and Chanel's stories.

I LOVE Gucci and Gucci history, I love Adam Driver, I’m a Gaga fan. I still couldn’t make it to the end of this movie. I’m not a huge movie person in general, but some of this was just nails on a chalkboard for me.
