I haven't used my Soho Disco since purchasing my Pochette Metis (x2 - as I now have the mono and the infrarouge). The PM to me is hands down the more versatile and easier to use.

I have the Gucci disco in red, it's a beautiful bag and I always get compliments when I wear it. I almost purchased the Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis last year in the regular monogram but I didn't pull the trigger. However, I was able to try it on and put my essentials inside. I would say the PM definitely holds more. I guess it will all depend on what you want to hold and if you like smaller bags. If all you need is your keys, card case and lipstick for the day, the Gucci disco will work. If you need more space or a versatile bag I would say the PM. I am on the waitlist for Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis in reverse monogram.
I have a reverse PM and a black Disco. I am currently obsessed with both even though I sway toward bigger bags. PM was an impulse buy- never caught my eye until I saw reverse in person and I am in a city with no waiting list. The Gucci Disco is my first Gucci ever as I typically buy LV.
For a premier designer bag in leather, I was pleasantly surprised at the price of the Disco. Quality is great.
Will also say, Disco feels light as a feather compared to my PM! And no compartments makes it so roomy, whereas PM compartments can be restricting.

So I'm having this similar dilemma... I'm on a waitlist at LV for the regular monogram PM but I'm on the fence if I actually want it because I love it or because I just keep seeing blogs with it (and there's a waitlist, etc.). I think the soho disco is such a great neutral bag and I'm also considering the small marmont camera bag in nude too. I'm a bit turned off by the fact that the PM is an $1,800 bag, too. You could get a Gucci bag AND a pair of louboutins for that price. I'm giving it a few more weeks for the weather to be more consistently warm before I make a decision.

I really wanted the PM but cannot find one anywhere and am scared to buy via reseller in case there are quality issues. I don't want to have a problem returning or exchanging so want to buy direct from LV. It will probably be at least 6 months before I can get one.
So because I'm impatient, I ordered the LV Damier Ebene Croisette, hoping it would be a good sub for the PM, but it was just a wee bit too small and structured for me
It's a gorgeous little bag but just not right for me, so I sent it back today.
BUT...I also ordered the black Disco (knowing I'd send either the Disco or LV back) and it arrived today.
I love love love the Disco so much. It fits more than the Croisette and is so cute and functional.
That being said - if I can ever get my hands on the Pochette Metis, I will probably go for it!
