Oh I just went impulsive and bought this for usd 1700 at Nordstrom rack and I am debating whether to return it. It’s brand new and i think the price is really good?. It is velvet, small, I need opinions! Do I keep it? Is it a classic? How will velvet wear, do any of you have velvet? I am not sure if this will be difficult to style meaning I can only wear to special occasion or winter? I appreciate feedback! Thank you

I think it’s beautiful. I just saw one at my rack as well. But it doesn’t sound like you love it.

This mixed material Dionysus is a star so simple outfits day or night would let it shine. Denim jeans and a button-down in white, black or emerald green for example, either casual or dressy, or just denim plus smart t-shirt. It would work with a minimalist black leather jacket or skirt. Obviously it works for dressy occasions. Stunning with a black dress. Etc, etc.
Personally I love velvet, I wear it quite often and I really love navy velvet. It's like a lovely rich sapphire with light and dark blue shades through the nap.
Velvet definitely can be worn all year round, I especially love it in summer. Protect it sensibly, brush as needed and it will last for ages.

The small size Dionysus is an excellent bag - beautiful, distinctive and practical. Good luck with it !

Thanks for your opinion, for some reason I really do like the velvet much more to leather or the canvas, just looks so beautifully opulent But at the same time wonder if it is too much for me.

I have a men's bag in this GG velvet and I really love how it looks. Considering the price you got it for, I think it's a keeper!

I haven't worn it as much as I wanted to due to the pandemic, and when I do wear it, I usually hand-carry the bag so it's hard to tell how the velvet would wear if it was constantly rubbing against my clothes had I chosen to wear it with the shoulder strap instead.

Depends on your wardrobe and what else you have in your collection. Both stunning. I have it in pink and I adore it, although its not a bag I wear everyday.

I got this same bag from my Nordstrom Rack for around $1500 recently but without the crystals. I'm still debating on if I should keep it as well since it is quite heavy and the chain strap is short.
