Gucci Black disco vs. Black marmont shoulder (camera) bag

Disco or the large camera bag. The small camera bag is just too small for my day to day use, jmo.
So I made it to a Gucci boutique and wanted to share my findings! These were the bags I was deciding between (but the pink one would have been ordered in black. They didn't have it in stock) Showing a pic for size comparison in case it helps anyone.
I actually found the decision between the disco and the larger marmont camera bag really difficult. Loved them both and the marmont was slightly roomier. Both had the same shoulder drop. Disco was slightly lighter. Love pebbled leather.
In the end I went with the classic choice:

i was just surprised to see you got to see the disco bag IRL... I was told not many boutiques had them now and I was better off to order them online.. which I did find online...

What country are you from? I'm in Canada and the disco doesn't seem to be hard to find here. In fact the SA told me that if I want the marmont I should go for it asap because the large camera bag size only had a few left in the country, whereas there are plenty of discos around since it's a classic! She did say that she heard it might be replaced by the marmont eventually but doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon since it's still their bestseller.

Great bag it's classic and the leather is divine. I really like the look of the Marmot bags as well I definitely foresee myself getting one down the line. However I will probably go for a small flap vs the camera bag for a completely insane reason. The flap bags have a heart in the stitching on the back and the camera bag has the GG logo and I'm a total sucker for the heart lol. I think the camera bag having the GG stitching is understandable since it's replacing the Disco It brings in that element into the newer design. But the 12 year old in me wants a bag with the heart, it's really subtle and honestly not even noticeable unless you have your bag on backwards. It's like a hidden gem just for you to enjoy.
Me too!! Congrats on your Disco! I had a red disco for a couple of years but sold it once it started to get to soft and slouchy (I just like more structure). I feel like the fact that the marmont shoulder bag is so underrepresented online must mean it's not very popular, but I love it!Glad it helps!I found marmont shoulder bag pics really hard to find as well.
Thank you! Yes, I would recommend the marmont shoulder bag if you're looking for something very comparable to disco size, and don't mind that it's a bit more rectangular. I really liked it!
I'm so in love with the Marmont collection! But I'm also in love with the Soho Disco Bag. I love the size of the disco bag but I want the design of the marmont. I think I might get the disco though, because it's going to be discontinued.
FYI, the black & white camera bag does have the heart on the back
I didn't realise that the solid colours and Ghost graffiti camera bags don't have the heart, so thanks for pointing it out.
And I agree, the 'hidden' heart is special.
Game changer! Thanks for letting me know the black and white one has a heart. I actually really like this one a lot I don't know why I'm generally not into color blocking on hand bags but for some reason I like this mix it's just enough to be different but still classic color wise. #wantthemallFYI, the black & white camera bag does have the heart on the back
